Continuing on the Journey

I began this journey in 2010. I lost half of the weight I had targeted that first year and SparkPeople was a godsend. It gave me the community and the information I needed to start losing weight. And that was something I had begun to believe just wasn't possible.

Since that time I've stayed pretty connected to this website. I've made some good friends...some have stayed and some have gone. 2013 has been a year where I've just held my own at a plateau where I'm "comfortable". ...

But I haven't reached that elusive goal. 2014 will be that year that I dust myself off, get serious about weight LOSS and start moving again.

My Goals:
Fit - walk for exercise 6 days a week

Increase my biking fitness with 3 rides each week. 10 miles to 50 miles.

Become more yoga fit, flexible with better balance.

Complete the loss of 25 unwanted pounds by August 15th.

Eat healthy & kick the diet soda addiction.

My Program:
Keeping calories well balanced and in the range of 1400 - 1500 daily

Walking-twice daily with one for aerobic needs and second for pleasure

Drinking more water.

Yoga class - Tuesday, strength class, Sunday

Blogging and reading blogs to stay inspired

Other Information:

Thanks so much for the blog comment about my December calendar. It was such a turning point mentally when I decided NOT to use the last month of the year as an excuse to go crazy and eat whatever I wanted. Yes, it will be more challenging than probably most other months, but that doesn't mean it's IMPOSSIBLE. I totally dreaded the idea of starting another new year being bummed about my weight and having to start my weight loss goals all over again in January (along with so many other people), and just decided to get the ball rolling now! I'm so glad I did, and I'm so glad that it's been inspirational to others reading my blog. So far, so good. I let myself have some pizza tonight, but it's all about progress, not perfection, right? :) Thanks again for the comment and best wishes for a great December and great start to 2015! :)

It rings so true to hear that I've lost pieces of my heart. It's hard to lose pieces - but I can't lose myself. Thank you so much for your friendship and support. I feel like I'm coming home. :)

Hey lady! You know me, back at it again, after a VERY long time away. I've thought about you and wondered how you were doing on your journey. I hope it's been treating you well.

Hopefully you'll be seeing me around more... ;) I'm finally feeling committed and motivated. It's taken me months to feel this way again.
