One of the happiest days of our lives, and I look my worst. He deserves a healthier, prettier wife.

Hi! I'm Rebecca. I'm a Lutheran wife of 12 years, step-mom to an awesome 15 year old boy, and mama to a crazy spoiled pit bull.
I've fought with obesity since childhood. When I graduated high school I was 220 lbs, and my weight steadily climbed year by year. By the time I was 30, I weighed 275 lbs. God brought a great man into my life in May of 2004, and I married him in November of that same year. We immediately began trying to expand our little family, to no avail. The next ten years brought failure, grief, devastation, fertility drugs, depression, stress and two babies taken to Heaven. I have a hormonal disorder known as PCOS (polycystic ovarian syndrome) and several blood-clotting disorders (Lupus Anticoagulant, Anticardiolipin Syndrome and Compound Heterozygous MTHFR mutation). All of this contributes to my infertility and the blood clotting disorders led to my miscarriages. PCOS also is one cause of my weight problems.
In early 2015 I was finally officially diagnosed with hypothyroidism, after fighting for years to get a doctor to take me seriously.
I've had quite a few wake up calls recently, and I've come to the realization that I have to change the way I'm living (or rather, existing...I haven't been truly LIVING for a long time) or I won't see my 43rd birthday. I feel like I'm not living my life, I'm simply existing. I feel like I'm just sitting here waiting to die. And I'm tired of that.
I love to read, knit, sew, and spend time with my crazy adorable baby girl, a 4 year old pit bull.
"No one's life should be rooted in fear. We are born for wonder, for joy, for hope, for love, to marvel at the mystery of existence, to be ravished by the beauty of the world, to seek truth and meaning, to acquire wisdom, and by our treatment of others to brighten the corner where we are.” ~Dean Koontz, Life Expectancy
