I want to be Fabulous By 40!!!

Hi! I'm Rebecca. I'm 39 years old, a Christian (Lutheran), married almost eight years to a wonderful man, and step-mom to an awesome 12 year old boy.
I've fought with obesity since childhood. When I graduated high school I was 220 lbs, and my weight steadily climbed year by year. By the time I was 30, I weighed 275 lbs.
God brought a great man into my life in May of 2004, and I married him in November of that same year. We immediately began trying to expand our little family, to no avail. The next eight years brought failure, grief, devastation, fertility drugs, depression, stress and two babies taken to Heaven. I have a hormonal disorder known as PCOS (polycystic ovarian syndrome) and several blood-clotting disorders (Lupus Anticoagulant, Anticardiolipin Syndrome and Compound Heterozygous MTHFR mutation). All of this contributes to my infertility and the blood clotting disorders led to my miscarriages. PCOS also is one cause of my weight problems. That, and honestly, I like good food and I like to eat!
I've had quite a few wake up calls recently, and I've come to the realization that I have to change the way I'm living (or rather, existing...I haven't been truly LIVING for a long time) or I won't see my 40th birthday.
I have a little over 200 lbs to lose.
I'm looking forward to meeting new people who understand just how hard this journey is and creating a support system for this adventure.
I love to read and knit, I work crazy hours as a 9-1-1 dispatcher, and I love God who gave me life and redeemed me through His son Jesus Christ!
