Ready for Adventure

We are planning a big vacation next spring and I want to be ready to hike and snorkle and maybe even learn to surf!

I am 50+ with a goal to be 50 lbs lighter and much healthier in 8 months--just in time for a trip to the Big Island of Hawaii!

My Goals:
GOALS:
- Healthier lifestyle!
- 50 lbs down
- Get ready for a fun adventurous vacation

My Program:
Planning meals. Getting in exercise. TRACKING!

Working on CONSISTENT exercise.

Personal Information:
Turn 55 this fall and have been steadily gaining weight since my 40's--sedentary job, a little bit of a workaholic, just not paying attention.

Short term goal: Pay attention. Be consistent. TRACK!

Medium term goal: Lose that 50 lbs so I can do fun things on vacation (and buy some cute new clothes to wear).

Long term goal: A healthy active lifestyle!

I am aware that I have a long road and have lots to learn. I am committed to being open and putting in the necessary time and energy. Consistency has always been difficult for me, but I am starting with small steps and building from there.

Have one husband, two dogs. They are very supportive and are all benefitting from my meal planning and increased activity.

Other Information:
FAVORITE QUOTES:

"Persistence is far more important than perfection."

"No matter how slow you go, you are still lapping everyone on the couch."

"Losing weight is hard. Maintaining weight is hard. Staying overweight is hard. Choose your hard."

"In my experience, the greatest successes donít come from grandiose scenarios of good intentions engendered by temporarily pumped-up motivation. Rather, the most lasting and significant positive effects result from small things, done consistently, in strategic places." --David Allen

"Above all else, do NOT quit! The universe always bows to persistence.
The empowering approach is to see your physical challenges as assets, because overcoming obstacles forces you to develop discipline, determination and character.
These traits will carry over to other areas of your life and make you a stronger person.Ē

Thank you for the goodie and the wonderful comment. I love the way we inspire and help each other on SP. We all stumble. What is important is picking ourselves back up and taking another step forward.
