Hi, my name is Kristen. I am a single mom to a wonderful 2 year old little boy, a full time student with Axia College (working for my AA in Healthcare Admin), and enjoying life in Alaska. I was recently diagnosed with ideopathic intracranial hyptertension (IH) and have to lose weight to help get this under control.

Just discovered one more thing that is helping me - Ovaltine (or carnation instant breakfast). Mix with the milk of your choice, it provides extra calories and nutrients without me having to force myself to eat.

Hello! I'm Michael. I saw your post on the IH support team about not getting enough calories. I looked at your food tracker and WOW! you aren't kidding.

I remember back when my pressure was high, I had no appetite whatsoever. I don't know where your pressure is right now, or if that is even the problem, but I think it would be a good idea to find a way to eat a little more.

A small handful of nuts isn't hard to eat even if your appetite isn't so great, but it can help with getting your calorie count up.

Perhaps a goal of trying a new snack each day, or once a week would motivate you to eat and help you find some new snacks you might look forward to.

More condiments can really add up.

Maybe you could add some toast or a bagel to go with that morning smoothie.

Fruit and vegetable juices are good for adding calories and nutrients without making you feel like you are forcing yourself to eat. There are some good ones available that don't have a lot of added junk, or you can make your own.

I hope to soon hear of your tremendous success!

Best wishes,
Michael

Hello! My name is Jen.

We have really similar goals, and you came up when I did a buddy search. I'm attempting to gather a small group of people with similar goals to lend support to each other. If you're interested, join this SparkTeam!
