Cup Half Full

May 2011 - I am a 63 year old grandmother wanting to be able to keep up with my active toddler grandson. He has made me realize how much energy and physical fitness I have lost and I want it back! I have faith with my families help I will get there.

July 2013 - It has been 2 years as I am 65 now. I have permanently lost 16 pounds, and I can get up off the floor with less effort now. Still not as fast as a young person, and there is room for improvement! Still loving SP and all ...

November 2014 - I came awfully close to putting all the weight back on this summer, but am back on track. My knees are the red flag warning that I have got to stop this madness and help them! I am doing that!

My Goals:
To be able to go up and down stairs without pain in my knees.

To be able to run and keep up with an active grandson.

My Program:
2015 Winter 5% Challenge

1. Drink 8 glasses of water every day.

2. Eat sitting down! No exceptions. And eat slowly and be mindful.

3. 10 min. yoga routine every morning.

4. ST 3 days a week minimum.

5. Walk daily 5,000 steps.

Personal Information:
I retired from a CPA firm where I was an accountant. I worked with wonderful people but retirement is great!

My hands look much, much improved. WooHoo! My feet have much less scale, although there is new cracking and a lot of pain when I walk-dance-move. I'm thinking this is all part of the healing process. I've been on slippery oak tree bark tee for a week now. I got it at local health food store. The American saffron tea I had to order. It came yesterday. Also, on lecithin as Pagano recommends. Another friend recommended 3 other supplements, so I'm trying. Also still have some ointment from dermatologist, so not going totally natural yet. No I don't see any skin changes yet. I have just as many splits and as much pain. The book says the first change you have is reduced itching. I know the itching is not worse, but really look forward to some relief. No problem with scalp. Problem areas are only palms of hands and soles of feet. Rest of my skin is fine. Thanks for asking.

I will ask my doctor about that book. Thanks for the recommendation. I'm very willing to change my diet and lifestyle if it will help. I may even try it if the doctor doesn't approve!! The doctors know a lot, but they don't know everything. -Marsha

PS I went to Amazon and found I could actually read the book without even buying it. I read the chapter on feet and hands already and will be reading more. The things that are not contradictory to what my doctor is telling me I'll start now. The rest I may wait until the treatment I'm getting either works or fails. Thanks for another option. Stelara at $28,000 per year is not an option I'm anxious to try.

Interesting that your family gave you clues. Nobody in my family has it. It must be in the recessive genes.
