From Goals to Glory: Becoming a Better Me

From childhood to high school, I was very active, creative, energetic and was able to achieve high grades. After a coop placement at a gym, I realized I wanted to be a dietitian and fitness instructor so I went to university.

Fast forward 4 years, and I am struggling with a diagnosis of ADHD, extra weight, unhealthy eating and a sedentary lifestyle. It will take a while, but my goal is to become healthier, stronger and organized: a better me.

My Goals:
To fit back into my size 2 jeans by August 2014, to lose fat and gain muscle

To begin strength training 3 x/ week

To drink 8 cups of water/ daily

To eat at least 5 fruits and vegetables, 2 servings of meat & alternatives, and 2 servings of dairy/ day

To reach 90 minutes of cardio/ week by adding 5 minute increments


My Program:
To begin strength training 3x/week on Monday, Wednesday & Friday before morning class

To purchase 5 fruits and vegetables/ week, 2-3 types of meat, 1 yogurt and milk. See recipe ideas and "top foods"

Add cardio during nights

Purchase a 1000ml water bottle from Sports Check


Personal Information:
I'm a 5"4, 22 year old university student pursuing a degree in dietetics. I love being physically fit and cooking, but struggle to find a healthy balance with ADHD, taking care of myself and full-time university.

Other Information:
While I love strength training and HIIT training, I really struggle with endurance activities such as treadmills with my small attention span.

Jogging outside? I'm getting there one step at a time
