Joined this site and lost 15 pounds fall 2011 semester, getting myself to under 200 for the first time since my sophomore year of high school. I got distracted and too busy by finals and combined with Christmas break I put 5 back on.

I came back and tracked everything and stayed focused to what I was trying to achieve. I lost 30 pounds to get myself down to 170 at the end of spring semester, there's still some fat in my stomach area, but I wouldn't say I'm really overweight anymore.

I moved down south for a summer internship, found a local Gracie Barra Brazilian Jiu Jitsu gym and fell in love with it. Then I had to get my weight down so that I could weigh in under 150lbs. I accomplished this and officially became a featherweight!

Now I'm just trying to maintain in the low 150s. I'm lifting hard and wouldn't mind putting a few pounds of muscle back on, but its hard to overcome the mindset of how much I'm eating.

I think that's my biggest challenge. I need to go back to not caring so much about what I eat and simply enjoy life. I'm in shape now so I shouldn't have to worry about a burger or wings on the weekend. My having too much fun and drinking a lot at the bars is a flag tho against my diet.

I also have a binging monster I've been working to tame. And so the journey continues.

I feel so much better and its really all thanks to finding this site

My Goals:
Weigh in as featherweight at IBJJF Atlanta on September 15th 2012 *Success

Now I've just been working on finding a balance between enjoying life as a young person and staying healthy. Mentally, its more of a challenge than physically losing the weight ever was

My Program:
Check my trackers if you want to see specifics. Eating plenty of protein, lifting 3 days a week. Trying to get a run in on the weekends and also train 2-3 times a week.

Oh yeah, and somehow finding time to have fun with friends as well haha

Just stumbled upon some of your recipes today and realized that I eat (and like) a lot of the foods that you do. Some of your creations that I haven't tried look delicious. Can't wait to try your oatmeal-egg pizza dough recipe. Thanks for sharing!

I've only tried one intermediate program and it was 5/3/1. I liked it and will probably go back to it when I'm done milking linear progress. A close second for me was the Texas Method. It's pretty likely if you use any of the well documented, widely used intermediate programs that you'll do well. The key is finding one that fits you best as well as your goals and life obstacles.

I liked 5/3/1 because during sports seasons I could ratchet down to the "not doing jack sh1t" template and be in and out. During the off season I did the "boring but big".
