I know, it's hard to keep up!

Welcome to my page. My name is Lynn, but most people call me "LB". I live in a suburb north of Atlanta, GA. My journey:
Unlike a lot of folks, I didn't grow up 'chubby'. I've never been overweight until I hit a "certain age" and then KA-POW, seems the weight just packed on...and on and on. At my heaviest 2 years ago, I weighed 170 and I'm just not built to carry that much weight.

Losing is a constant struggle for me as I can't seem to understand that I just can't ...

Losing is a constant struggle for me as I can't seem to understand that I just can't eat anything I want whenever I want, like I did growing up. Maintaining constant focus is hard and as you can see from reading my updates below, it has been an up & down affair. BUT, I have a vision in my head of the person I want to be and what I want to look like and that's my steady goal. :D

UPDATE: 1.11.10
Time for another update! I'm still on SP and I've had to recommit. Got up to 140 just being lazy. No excuses. I stopped going to work out consistently and though I was dancing quite a bit, it wasn't keeping it off as I had hoped. I'm back to working out, and following my own example! I had started to feel the negative self-talk coming back and I REALLY don't want that, so it's back to logging my food every single day and working out combined with the dance.
I have a new, little skimpy latin costume that I want to look good in, so that's my motivation!
Here I go....I know, it's hard to keep up! LOL
Loving life,
L.

UPDATE: 3.20.09
Still Sparking! I gained a little over the holiday and am at 132 right now. I have been dancing my heart out and even contemplated completeing (YES! eeeeeeck!). Getting back to a workout schedule....and am planning on fulfilling my life long dream of visiting (read: backpacking down into) the Grand Canyon this year. I'm so excited! I'll get where I'm going....just give me time! :)

UPDATE 8.4.08
Wow! Can't believe it's been this long already. I've maintained my weight loss for over a year! I'm at 121 pounds at 5'6" and that is a comfortable weight for me. I'm dancing a LOT and doing any variety of outdoor activities to stay fit & healthy, working out 3x a week too. Spark People ROCKS! ;)

UPDATE 12.10.07:
Up a little to 133 pounds but I'm on it! Also, I've gained a bunch of muscle. In fact, 1/4" on each arm of pure muscle (yeah!), so I'm less concerned about the number only. I still feel and look great (if I do say so myself..hee hee). Though I haven't been hiking much at all in the last two months I have been dancing like a crazy women. I LOVE LOVE LOVE it. Still checking in with SP daily and still continuing my health and wellness journey...things are looking good all over! ;)

UPDATE 8.28.07:
Still maintaining my weight between 128-131 pounds. I feel great and guess what??? I joined a Dance Class! OH MY! I've been going for a couple of weeks now & I love it. Stayed tuned....what's next on the agenda is anyone's guess! (wink)

UPDATE: 6.25.07
Still maintaining. (Yeah!) I hike amost every single weekend, usually logging anywhere from 6-10 miles. I feel fantastic.
Still rollerblade some but the hiking seems to be more enjoyable for me since I love being outdoors. I even went tubing down the river. Next on the agenda:
-More caving in TN
-More hiking
-Rafting down the Oconee
-Join a Dance Class

Body goals:
-Lose some more belly fat.
-Tighten up the thighs & buttocks.
-Tone & sculpt my arms & back muscles.
Hugs ya'll!
L.

Thanks for the kind comments on my spark page photos. My wallpaper is a pic I took in St. Thomas in 2007. Thank you also for leading the mini challenge team.

Thanks for your comment on my blog! I am not aware of a mini-challenge team, I am quite new at this Sparkpeople. I just was looking at your photogallery. Let me just say WOW. You look so adventurous and fun. My husband and I used to get out and do cook stuff. Been slow lately, young kids and jobs and all that. Anyway, nice to meet you and thanks for the tip! emoticon
