Major Life Changes

I am a military wife, mother and graduate student. Last year, I quit smoking and lost all control of my life. I gained 30 lbs and wound up on blood pressure meds. I decided it was time for a major change. This is going to be such an exciting year and I didn't want to huff and puff to keep up with it. I have gotten control again and every day feels better than the last. I think I am going through my own personal mid life crisis. Almost everything in my life is changing to some extent. Some days I hardly recognize it anymore!

My Goals:
To stop needing BP meds (COMPLETE)

To weigh less than my hubby (COMPLETE)

Lose 10% of my body weight. (COMPLETE)

Do a 10 minute mile.

Be able to use a normal towel after a shower instead of a beach towel.

To be able to wear my wedding ring again. (COMPLETE)

To weigh less than I ever did in college. (COMPLETE)

To go through all the clothes sizes I own. These go all the way down to a 10.

Do a 5k for charity.

Run a mile.

Be able to wear my husbands belt. (COMPLETE)

Wrestle my husband and get flipped around like I was 10 years ago.

Not have to shop in the plus size clothing.

To lose over 100 lbs.



My Program:
I am eating multiple times a day so that I can repair my destroyed metabolism. I have lowered my carbohydrate intake slightly and increased my protein. I carefully log everything daily.

Personal Information:
I am a mom, military wife and a graduate student. I am currently studying Fisheries and Mariculture at TX A&M.

Other Information:
I love love love to read. I also enjoy playing sports with my family, hiking, fishing and playing on the beach. I am advance scuba certified and would like to continue to Master Diver :)

Hi I saw your response to my post! Have fun in DC next week! At least you are missing the 100s we just had. Also, I have to admit that I have lived here for 5 years and have never seen the fireworks (though for the holiday 2 years I was visiting my family/friends in Chicago and one I was in Orlando)!!

Thanks for the fitness mags, I've been MIA from Spark but doing well on my eating, lost 6 lbs! Been trying to put in an above ground pool for my exercise for the summer with my 18 year old. Not a big pool either just one of those inflatable top ring jobs, but it's the biggest project...oh well, it counts as exercise! What a cool education path you have chosen, would love to hear more about it sometime, Best Spark wishes!
