If it is to be, it is up to me!

I have always been the chubby sister and fat friend growing up. I started feeling self conscious about myself in grade school and I adapted the nasty habit of eating to hide my feels. As the years went by so did the yo-yo diets. I have lost weight in the past but always gained it back and then some.:(
I was 230 at my heaviest two years ago and on my wedding day (19 years ago) I was 165. I want to be at a healthy weight for my 20th anniversary 2011.

My 15 year old son is my biggest inspiration. He has lost 40+ pounds since Jan 2010 by setting goals and exercising daily. He encourages me to get active and to really watch what I put in to my mouth. Then there is my wonderful husband who has lost 77 pounds and is maintaining his healthy weight and life style. We have been walking 3-4 evenings together and he is a great motivator.

“Stop wasting so much energy hating your body; it makes you weaker.
Everything good in your life begins from the moment you begin accepting, understanding, respecting, and loving your true self.”

"The one thing all famous authors, world-class athletes, business tycoons,
singers, actors, and celebrated achievers in any field have in common is that they all began their journeys when they were none of these things.
Yet still, they began their journeys.
You are so poised for greatness."

"It is rewarding to find someone you like, but it is essential to like yourself.
It is quickening to recognize that someone is a good and decent human being, but it is indispensable to view yourself as acceptable.
It is a delight to discover people who are worthy of respect and admiration and love, but it is vital to believe yourself deserving of these things."

"My invitation to you is to begin living every moment as though you are miraculous and deserve to live an extraordinary life.
Fake it if you must and keep faking it until it’s real to you. The gift you will be giving yourself is a lifelong journey of discovery, one that is infinite and infinitely rewarding. Begin the journey. Today. This moment. Now."

"One of the most difficult parts of changing how you live and how you eat is believing that change is possible.
We all say we believe that, but many of us, deep down in our hearts believe that it's possible for other people, but not for us.
That other people can do it, that the glowy warm life we imagine is for other people, not for us.
We have an unconscious belief that we can't do it, it's hopeless, and so, on some level, we stop making an effort.
We lapse into the way it always was or is. But change really is possible.
And it really does take a fierce kind of longing, and a fierce kind of love for yourself.
For the life you know is possible. Ask yourself what you love most of all.
Do you love your life? And are you willing to take action on your own behalf?"

TGIF, Sparkfriend! I hope your week was a good one and that you're ready for a fit, fun and fantastically healthy weekend! Keep your goals in mind and keep taking steps towards them. Remind yourself that you are capable...and love yourself enough to know that you are worth the effort!
Hugs,
Pixie
