Hi,

My name is Sharon and I'm still hoping to become a healthier person for me. Previously, my page title said, "Putting an end to the Yo Yo." When I went to edit my intro, nothing has really changed, so it remains the same.

I can't believe I've been an off and on SparkPeople member for the last six years and during that time never reaching any of my goals. If I took one step forward, I took two steps backwards, sometimes even three steps in the WRONG direction.

I've added more excuses than you can imagine for not reaching my goals:

My feet hurt, I can't walk 4 miles anymore
My back hurts, I can't do floor exercises or crunches
My hair is too long, can't fit under a swimming cap
Too many kids in the pool, and not enough lap lanes open

I sit in a chaise all day teleworking from home with my laptop on my lap. I no longer have to walk the short distance from the bus stop to work. I cherish the fact that when I have to be at work at 6:15 AM, I'm there without any commute. I cherish the fact that when I get off work at 5:15 PM, I'm home already. No long commutes in the evening anymore that resulted in me sometimes getting home after 7:00 PM and feeling angry. So now that those obstacles have been removed, what was stopping me from getting motivated to exercise. Me!! I have been in the way of myself!

Well, it's time for me to focus on what it is that I can do and incorporate a way to get those exercises in. I've been eating relatively healthy, but live a very sedentary lifestyle.

So here are my new goals:

1) Take small steps, accomplish what I can, but be active for at least 20 minutes every day!
2) Follow Nicole's chair exercises
3) Follow Nicole's band exercises
4) Continue to eat healthy
5) Congratulate myself and be happy when the weight comes off, whenever that may be, but don't become discouraged if it doesn't happen when I want it to.
6) Don't focus on how many pounds I want to lose, just take it 1 pound at a time, I'll know when I get to where I want to be.

Oops, I'm editing my previous intro, and look at what the last line of that was :) Still rings true today so I'm keeping it!

Goal is to refocus and reconnect and take it one day at a time.

God is the head of my life and He has blessed me with a wonderful family and many friends. I have not found a new church home in my "new location" so I enjoy attending my original church home online for both early Sunday morning service and Thursday night bible study. I enjoy having quiet time when I just read, work puzzles that I later have framed, gardening, cooking out, traveling, visiting family and friends back home and renting movies. I'm a fan of 24 and last but not least I'm a computerholic.
