My Health Journey

I'm starting this journey for the one hundred and first time it seems. I've always had a little weight problem, but I was able to keep it in check in high school. After I got married that changed. I began gaining weight when my husband went to basic training, about 14 pounds, and I kept telling myself "I'll get it back off soon". But that didn't happen before I gained more weight being alone all the time while he worked such long hard hours at training school.

Then I gave birth to twins weighing in at over 9 lbs. each I kept an added 30 lbs after that and I weighed in at 174. Two more babies over 9 lbs and my weight was up to almost 200. After that I couldn't blame my pregnancies, I added another 35lbs. During those 23 years I tried many ways of weight loss, none very successfull, not for long anyway.

I have decided that it is time to get very serious about becoming a healthy person. I KNOW what I am suppose to do nutrition and fitness wise, I just need to discover HOW to implement what I know.

So TODAY is the beginning of My Health Journey. I am creating a new attitude to go with the knowledge I already have and inviting My LORD in on this journey with me. I can do all things through HIM....

*Compete in Biggest Loser challenges!!
*Drink 10 cups of water daily
*Walk my dog every day for at least 10 min.
*Do strength training 2-3 times a week (Jillian's 30 day Shred)
*Use rebounder for 10 min.
*Track my food (no matter what I eat)
* Eat at least 6 Fruit/Veggies a day.

Hi Cat Buddy,

How is it going? I haven't lost anything for the past two weigh-ins. I have lost in inches, though. I need to work a little harder to shake this hold up in my weight. We have 3 more weeks. So let's work as hard as we can to make our 5% weight lose. Let do all we can to motivate each other and our own self. I want to encourage you this week! How can I help, you? With me it is needing to exercise more. I am not putting enough time into it as I should. I am exercising, just not enough. I let the day get away from me and then I try to cram in exercise, when I am to tired. I need to exercise at least an hour everyday. I have averaged less than an hour most days and missed more than one day a week. Not good for me. I need to exercise earlier. We can do this, girl.
