-------------------------------

I joined a gym in late November 2006, and started SparkPeople in the beginning of January 2007. I lost the first 50 pounds very quickly and 30 more after going vegan. I've avoided all meat and dairy products for about five years now, and I feel great! I've been maintaining 190 pounds for over two years. I'd like to burn another 20-30 pounds and build some muscle.

I wrote an essay that is now featured in SparkPeople's motivational articles section! I have it listed under my favorites if you want to check it out. :)

I just want you to know how much I appreciated your story of how you found your inner strength. Back in 2011, I really felt that I had found mine to find out about a year later that I really hadn't yet because over the last couple of years, even though I've been tracking and sparking every day, I can't find my inner strength and have gradually gained 20# and it scares me to death. But yet not quite enough to be consistent to lose again. I wanted to let you know that I admire you so much and I know that deep inside I can do it, it's just a matter of having enough discipline to do it. Especially with the eating because it's tough for me to exercise with having chronic pain. Thanks for sharing and thanks for listening too!

I loved your inspirational blog! It was sooo wonderful and made me feel like I could accomplish my goals. I have a ton of weight to lose and although I have taken some beginning steps, joining a gym would definitely put me up to the next level. You are doing so wonderful! Keep up the awesome work!

Hi Laura,

I just wanted to say congratulations on taking up this challenge and sharing your personal thoughts with everyone. I also wanted to say that you write beautifully. The way you described your emotions was so raw and pure, it really touched me.

I'm glad I read it.

Nitya
