    Well you can do it! I know you can, just remember one day, one good choice at a time. You have healthy eating down which is something I have yet to conquer, so you are farther ahead then you realize! And I know it's cheesy, but age really is just a number, and no one would believe your number even if you told them. ;) It's about how we feel, and I know with each pound lost you will feel even better! :D

    I know they say as we get older our metabolism slows down and it really does make it harder for us to lose the weight! But as long as we keep fighting it I know we can do it!

    I had lost 40 pounds at least 3 different times, and each time I gained it back plus more. So I can totally understand the frustration there. It used to make me feel defeated, it made me feel like I'd always be fat and I could never do this because I kept gaining it back. But then I realized I obviously learned something valuable because i was able to lose 40 pounds, just like you lost that weight... you know how to lose the weight, but then sometimes we stop what we are doing and we start to let our old habits creep back in and it makes it so easy to gain it back. So this time remember, you know how to get the weight off, but this time you are going to keep at it and make sure it doesn't come back.

    Portion control can really be hard... I know it is super tedious, but if you don't already have one a food scale is really a great tool. It keeps me honest... the food scale doesn't lie. So I can't tell myself I'm having one serving when it's really 2. :) I have a cheap one too, i know it was no more than 20 bucks. It has become such a habit that I automatically weigh things... it also helps open our eyes to learn what the real portions should be. It was shocking at first, but now it's okay LOL. ;)

    Oh my gosh, thanks for the friend adds and the kind words! I promise you I am no one special and I am actually quite lazy if I'm being honest... so with that said, if I can lose a bunch of weight, I know everyone can do it! :D It really is about consistency, we all mess up, we all eat too much sometimes, or don't exercise, but it's what we do most of the time that counts.

    For me, I have just strictly done calorie counting. I have a food scale and weigh out all my portions so that I am honest and that my calorie counting is as accurate as possible. I track everything on Spark. I am the first to admit that my diet is not the healthiest, and I don't tell other people to "eat like me"... example: I eat convenience/processed foods because my 12 hour days are long and it makes it easier. I lost a lot of weight eating easy mac, lean pockets and chicken nuggets... like I said, not healthy and I wouldn't push it on anyone else or defend it to anyone, but I'm being honest. And it does go to show it really is calories in calories out for weight loss. Is it better for you if those come from healthy foods? Yes. I will also tell you, the amount of food you can eat is sooooo much more when you are eating healthier... but you gotta find a way that you can live with, that you can stick with, and most importantly doesn't feel like torture!
