Not Giving Up on Me!

I'm a mother, grandmother and great grandmother married to a wonderful husband. Together we call 10 wonderful people our children. With that said, it seems as if I've been taking care of others all my life.

Not that I didn't try to take care of myself. I did. I exercised, adhered to a healthy eating regiman, and promised myself I would never let myself go. Despite all my efforts that's just not the way it turned out.

Not that I didn't try to take care of myself. I did. I exercised, adhered to a healthy eating regiman, and promised myself I would never let myself go. Despite all my efforts that's just not the way it turned out.

I can still remember that day I came home from work because I thought I had the flu. I can hardly believe that was nearly 20 years ago. I was so weak I literally couldn't stand on my feet and had to crawl to the bathroom. To make a long story short, it wasn't the flu. It was Fibromyalgia and Chronic Fatigue. I struggled to keep some normalcy in my life, but finally I gave in, at least for a time.

With the help from SparkPeople I have gone from thinking I cannot exercise at all to power walking for 30 minutes 5 days a week. I've recently added cardio dance and strength training 3 times per week and I do yoga twice per week. I'm starting to see changes in my body. I'm feeling better and getting stronger with each day.

We are strong magnificent beings and can accomplish more than we probably think. Life will always be full of challenges but with the proper knowledge and unyielding effort we can conquer them. Find the power that is truly already within you. Stay informed and whatever you do, never, ever, ever... give up!

Eat small amounts of protein from different sources with each meal.

Get in 5 servings of vegetables everyday.

Eat two healthy snacks every day.

Remember, cheese is not my personal friend.

Jello is my new friend.

Eat fruit.

Exercise at least 30 minutes everyday.
- Walk every day - 30 min.
- Strength train T-Th-Sat
- Yoga stretches W & F
