I Wanna Be More Than Yesterday

So I joined Sparkpeople September 17th, 2007. I do not know what it was about that day, but I decided it was just enough. I finally stepped onto the scale for the first time in a long time and as 20 years old, I weighed 360 pounds. I had been overweight as a child, a teenager.. and into adult hood.

I wanted the weight to just melt off. To be gone from my body. Of course, this didn't happen though. Slow and steady wins the race, right? It's taken me five years, but I've lost over ...

I finally stepped onto the scale for the first time in a long time and as 20 years old, I weighed 360 pounds. I had been overweight as a child, a teenager.. and into adult hood.

I wanted the weight to just melt off. To be gone from my body. Of course, this didn't happen though. Slow and steady wins the race, right? It's taken me five years, but I've lost over 150lbs! 80 of those pounds have been in 2012.

In 2011 I made the decision to move away from my family and Texas and move to Chicago. I miss my family, but moving to Chicago was the best decision I have made. 2012 has been incredibly amazing. And
it's also been a year where I've been determined to make headway. As 2012 comes to a close, I am striving to close out the chapter of 200lbs as well. I want to see a 1 in front of my weight as the New Year rolls around.

I'm a private nanny. I'm a writer. An artist. A girlfriend. A renegade. A wannabe rock star in my car. I follow Ben Folds/Five and have seen him/them 30 times.

Next year I am going to go sky diving. Be a maid of honor. Take belly dancing lessons. Reach my goal weight. Continue becoming the person I want to be. Be amazing. Inspire others.
