In 2012 I lost my first 5 pounds and decided it was time to get serious! Yeah I just killed that ropes course!

At my heaviest in summer 2012. Approximately 180 pounds.

2009, looking amazing. Before I gained weight slowly 2009-2012 and went from a healthy BMI to an unhealthy one.

Here are just a few highlights of my accomplishments on Sparkpeople: 1. I lost 30 pounds here in 2012!!! 2. I went from an "overweight" BMI to a "healthy BMI" 3. I maintained that weight loss for four years, minus hiccups of +/- a few pounds. In 2016, I got married, moved to a new city and state, bought our first house, started a new career, and became happily pregnant with my first child! Now in 2017, I'm healthily GAINING weight! I am seeing numbers I have never seen before, which is a bit scary. I have a month to go in this pregnancy and my goal is to get the baby weight off slowly but steadily over the following 9 months, just as reasonably as I put it all on. I hope to give grace to my amazing body that produced and nurtured this child, but also not to give myself excuses never to get the baby weight off, as my mother and grandmother never lost the weight and have put more on over the course of their respective lives. I heard a while back something along the lines of, "If you have a flat tire, do you slash the other three?" I now live by that aphorism in terms of my "slip-ups" with food or exercise. One mistake is covered by my body's fictional "insurance policy," but not four.
