ROCK that body!

I'm married, I'm 32, and life is crazy. ALWAYS. I'm a stepmom to a couple of awesome kiddos, I have a very demanding job, and have been referred to as a renaissance woman because of my many hobbies.

I started SparkPeople about 7(!?!) yrs ago... there was some progress (I lost 30 pounds - twice), then setbacks (I gained it back - twice) and I'm tired of ending up back where I started. That makes me want to kick some serious booty - namely, my own.

I'm tired of feeling like I have no control over this aspect of my life and as though I'm a victim to genetics or any other array of circumstances. I have a choice and I CAN choose to do my very best. If life is a dance, then I want to ROCK it!

My Goals:
2015 goals:

LESS STRESS!

Love & accept myself more. (Talk to myself like a good friend.)

Gain strength & avoid injury.

Make more (physically, mentally, emotionally, & spiritually) healthy choices throughout the day.

My Program:
I strive for 10min of intentional activity every day. This helps me with making being active a priority and a habit - not "something I'll do if I have time". I will get my butt in gear and go do SOMETHING.

Primary activities:
Lap swimming
Elliptical
Dancing
Walking/Hiking
Motorcycling

Goal activities:
More strength training
Climbing

Personal Information:
In my 32 years I can remember one short period of my life where I didn't feel totally uncomfortable and humiliatingly un-thin.
I want to live my life in freedom. I want to feel healthy and unencumbered; and I believe if I set my mind to it, with support of the people who love me and help from the Lord, I CAN DO THIS!

Other Information:
I got my motorcycle endorsement in 2011 - TOTALLY SWEET!! I now ride a Ducati Monster 696 and love to go exploring the Pacific NW with my husband on the bikes.

I believe that it's best not to take life too seriously. My dad says, "Sometimes if you're not laughing, you're crying... so you might as well laugh!" There is wisdom to that!!

My favorite book is 'The Shack'. I believe God loves us exactly as we are and where we're at, but loves us enough to not leave us there.

Hi! The egg whites make the oatmeal look creamier as they cook and when its done it looks a little bit puffy. When it cooks the smell reminds me of cooking french toast so I bet this might be good paired with maple syrup which I might have to try! It did take a way from the cinnamon that I add while cooking so I added more this morning and it was better.

Sounds like you and your hubby are doing well with making healthy habits! Good luck to you with giving up chocolate! I know that's a tough one. Thanks again for all your sweet comments!

Hi! Thanks for commenting on my blog. I tend to eat just fruit for breakfast, but trying to get in more healthy carbs. I want to try making a breakfast casserole so I can get more protein.

I like the refrigerator oatmeal. It's been a while and when I made it I used yogurt, but I have seen it made without too so I want to try that. My favorite combination is honey and peanut butter.

I also loved, loved, loved Made to Crave. It's actually how I came across Sparkpeople, by doing an online search for people going through the book and discussing it. I lost my original copy and bought it for my Kindle just so I can refer back to it when I start drifting off track!
Have a great day! Hope your back is feeling better.
