A New Me

I never want weight (over or under) to define me. I know that a healthy weight and stronger bones will allow me to live a better quality of life and allow me to be more flexible and stronger.
I have zip-lined in Honduras, and kayaked in Canada.

My Goals:
I know the scale isn't everything, but I am going to permanently eliminate 30# from my body.
I want my next bone density test to register positive numbers.
And I plan to get into my favorite jeans very soon.

My Program:
Working on consistency!

Drink 96 oz of water daily.

45 minutes cardio 4 days a week.

Practice gratitude daily.



Personal Information:
I live in the 'snowbelt' of Northeast Ohio: an hour east of Cleveland and 35 minutes west of Erie, Pa. I am the Mom of 3 beautiful children (2 natural and 1 adopted) - American Mom to 5 exchange daughters (3 from Japan, 1 from Italy and 1 from Hong Kong) - and GrandMommy to 2 stunning GrandGirls. I have learned to live comfortably with celiac. But the auto-immmune disorder left me with the challenge of osteoporosis and a slowing thyroid.
Now is my time to reverse the bone loss and the weight gain. I really want to be healthy for this last third of my life. I have so much to be grateful for.

Other Information:
I originally got on Spark People in 2012. And I fell off. Don't know why, but the summer of 2014 found me wanting to eat better and move more. And it has continued. The scale hasn't reflected my lifestyle change, but my clothes are fitting so much better. I am happy about that.

I've always liked this quote, it's so very true. I had a really relaxing weekend, hope you did too. But today it's back to the grind. Let's don't forget to get our bodies moving. I'm going to try for 15,000 steps today, join me if you dare.

No one can do this for us, so today we will accept the responsibility to make the changes in our lives that are necessary to get us to our goals. WE CAN DO THIS!!!!!!!!!

I've been doing better on my steps this month. I'm trying to get at least 10,000 a day, every day. Most days I can do it, but some days I just can't get that high. I don't know how I was getting 20,000 in a day, last year. I need to get back to that again!
