I know exactly what you mean by your remarks on my blog, Lis. I do miss the 4 seasons, but can see if somewhat by traveling to our home in the mountains. Once in awhile we even spend Christmas up there, if I am ambitious enough to put up a tree. The home there is so much bigger, but it's a lot of work to just enjoy it for a week, so I don't plan ahead, just play it by ear. There are no kids to come to visit, so sometimes I figure why bother.
And the snowbirds are a boon to the economy in our state, but you may as well forget about going out to eat at a restaurant unless you want to go extremely early or extremely late -- so that fun bit of entertainment is usually lost to us during the winter months, plus the traffic is quite terrible no matter what time of the day it is. Oh well, each location has it's advantages and disadvantages. Just try to enjoy what you do have.
Next time I come down to Sun City I'll bring my camera, I like the pictures from it rather than from my SmartPhone. Old fashioned probably, but my husband has a really good camera and takes photo's that he posts on his website, which is delange.org and people like Phoenix Magazine and AZ Highways, even Wikipedia at times. Or people who are writers and want them for a book. It's got a lot of info, we get about 3 million hits a month.
