I'm Lis and I joined in 2008 needing to lose those last 10 pounds again. I'd lost 35 pounds in 2005, another 11 in 2006, gained some back and I was in the 141-145 range for a few years.
Late 2009 we moved to Mexico, and over the years the weight crept up, getting over 150 a few times but in January 2013 I found a way of eating that works for me and I am back around 135 since March 2013 and the focus has shifted to maintenance in the 134-139 range.
My favorite activities are yoga, pickleball, walking and sea kayaking.
August 2015 I started taking a Pilates class twice a week and I love it.
March 2016 I participated in a pickleball tournament and won the bronze in the 3.0 women's double and the silver in the 3.0 mixed doubles!
I have come a long way from the couch potato I used to be!!

The end of March 2005 I started the Michael Thurmond 6 week body make-over. Finally something worked! I lost 35 pounds in 5 months. Over the next 9 months I lost another 11, down to 134. That was hard to maintain.

Jan 2008 - The weight crept back up to 145 over the last 8 months - now it's time to lose those 10 pounds again.

July 2010 - went below 140 for the first time in over 3 years!!

November 2010 - I'm back up in my "comfy" range 141-145

January 2013 - gained a few (!) over the last years to 151 but back with the program!
February 2013 - back below 140 :)
March 31st 2013 - at goal! 135
July 2013 - 134, back to my old low and then DD came to visit for a few months..
Fall 2013: 140 goal to get to or below 135 again
February 2014: back on The Plan
September 2014: new low 133

Personal Information:
After living in beautiful SW Colorado, near Pagosa Springs for 13 years, we are now living in San Carlos, Sonora, Mexico.
2009/2010 was our first winter in San Carlos - great to be out of the snow! It is a great place to live for most of the year and it is nice to visit Colorado for part of the summer. Summer 2014 we didn't go north and had a wonderful time staying in Mexico and even experiencing a hurricane.

    Hi LIsa, Thank you for sharing your ideas for lowering cholesterol on my blog. I'm trying to eat healthier, get exercise. So far no negative effects from the meds.

    Hi Lis - yes, I've already made reservations to go see Renee in June, it will be just for the week-end, but I had credit with SW Air, so the trip won't be too expensive. Perhaps a couple of months after that my GD (Gia, Renee's only daughter) will fly with me to see her again. Probably be explosive, we all have the same exact personality and sometimes that makes sparks fly. lol -- but it will be good. Now that my GD is 24 years old though, we tend to get along a lot better than when she was a teen.

    You're right, of course, Lis -- you will want to be in tip-top shape for that trip to Holland. that will be so cool, I'll bet you are excited. Have you been there before? Or is it possible your native land?

    Can't remember if I thanked you for reading and commenting on my blog -- going back and forth between two homes is starting to get to me. What I want is never in the right house! lol

    Now if I can just follow my own advice I'll do better, although I have started to think that maybe 125 for my goal is unrealistic, and 135 seems to be where my body wants to hang out.
