Don't think diet- think just do it!
Hi there, thanks for taking the time to visit my page. I am an opera singer who loves great food and fine wine but not the extra pounds that I've been basically ignoring. My ultimate goal: To lose this excess weight in a healthy way and keep it off for good- WITHOUT giving up the things I love, like meatballs & vino! Since being married, I have gained a good 15 pounds... depends on the day, if you know what I mean. I call it my "happily ever after ...
I call it my "happily ever after weight." I want to take off what I've gained and stop any more from creeping on. I was a competitive cheerleader once upon a time and have traded the hours spent at those practices for hours devoted to being the best professional singer and entertainer I can be. I am trying to learn to "fit it all in", complete with a teaching studio and another part time job. I have seen a real change in my stamina with these extra pounds. I am very active on stage and I need to look the part as much as sing it. Getting healthy is important to every aspect of my life. I have been back and forth using Sparkpeople, but most recently with the goal to loose my "happily ever after pounds" by my 5 year wedding anniversary two summers ago. I didn't lose as much as I wanted by the big day, but I was almost there! So close... but I still was thinking diet and not lifestyle. And since then, I haven't really even thought once about it. Except for when my clothes don't fit... I do realize now that once I started losing, I started thinking I could do it totally on my own, but that has been my downfall. So, here we ago. Again. I want to be slow and steady with this and really create a lifelong change for better health. I want to make healthy habits an every day part of life. Starting right now. Don't think diet... think just do it!!!! I am looking for that balance of enjoying food without the guilt of 'watching what I eat'. Life is too short. I want to life it to the fullest every way I can. I want to spend my minutes with happy thoughts, not, 'how long do I have to work out to get rid of that?'. My biggest challenge is always excercise. I don't even remember the girl who ran laps and did flips. She is there somewhere. I'm going to find her again! Feel free to drop me a line. I love to meet new people. We're all in this together!!!!

My Goals:
* Loose my "happily ever after" weight and keep it off without feeling like I am "trying". * Actually adopt healthy changes that stick.
My Program:
This is ever in flux... *Keep my calories to 1,200 a day, just like SPark suggests : ) *Fill up on more veggies! *Take the time to prepare balanced meals, not eat "whatever" on the run. *Drink lots of water and cut back on coffee. *To move my body every day for 30 minutes, no less than 10 minutes. * Get to bed between 10 & 11 every night and start my next day with some sort of fitness.
Personal Information:
I am originally from NY but currently call NC home. I am married to a wonderful man who also happens to be an opera singer. He loves to cook and eat as much as I do. We are quite a pair! We are fortunate enough to perform together often, so we get to travel and rehearse and really understand what it is to live our crazy lives. We were married 7 years this past summer. We're both trying to lose our 'happily ever after weight' that we have collectively gained.
Other Information:
Give opera a chance! Most people find that once they see one live, they really like it! I am addictied to reading fashion magazines and cook books. I Google anything and everything. I can spend hours at CVS and not buy one thing.
