1. Read 100 books in 2014.
Read so far: 26 books
2. Qualify for the Boston Marathon.
3. Run till I'm 100.

Upcoming Races:

1) Run 6 days a week - following a custom marathon training plan.
2) Eat clean.
3) Work with a personal trainer 2 days a week.

Personal Information:
I love cats and am owned by 6 of them. I also enjoy keeping fish. I have a 2400 gallon koi pond, a 125 gallon goldfish pond, and more aquariums than I am willing to admit to, ranging in size from 2.5 gallons to 140 gallons. I love to garden, in particular to grow my own vegetables. Unfortunately, I no longer have a good space for this, but do have lots of herbs.

I am now (happily) retired.

My husband and I will celebrate our 40th anniversary in May, 2014.

Other Information:
I am a voracious reader. I love my Kindle and the public library.

My field of study at university was English literature (I have an advanced degree in medieval English literature). My first career was teaching at university, but after a few years I went over "to the dark side" and spent most of my professional life at a large, multinational computer company, principally as a planner and project manager.

I am passionate about opera and an emeritus member of the Board of Trustees of the Austin Lyric Opera.

I also serve on the Boards of Austin Shakespeare (Vice President) and the Austin Chamber Music Center (President) as well as serving as the current President of the Austin branch of the English Speaking Union.

You always have sound advice. Thanks for your comments on ChiRunning. I have signed up for a workshop in Chicago with Danny Dreyer himself. It will be interesting to see if I self-taught correctly or not. This was my reasoning - for every sport I have participated in, I have always gotten coaching, or lessons or both. Be it swimming, diving, tennis, and now running. It is good sense to have a trainer of sorts.

Thanks for asking. No, we bought tickets the first day they went on sale when you can't know which teams would get in. Hubby is a U of Tennessee grad and fanatic. But UT was eliminated in the Sweet Sixteen by Maryland. Because UConn and UT were tied with 8 total championships over the years, we were hoping it would be some other team than UConn. We rooted for Notre Dame. They looked really good against Stanford, but it wasn't to be---

Thanks for the Spark Goodie and concern. I think they will be coming home today from the hospital. Poor little girl. The next few days will be a "big" deal - getting her to eat so she starts gaining weight.

Thanks. I was quite happy that I was able to make up the pace difference. Wasn't sure I could do it. This will help build my confidence as I try to run faster and farther. Finally getting stronger.
