Shared Food & Fitness Trackers
Like many others, I have no problem managing other areas of my life-raising a family, running a household, having a career...So, why don't I expend as much time, energy and effort into managing and maintaining my own health when it comes to fitness and nutrition?
A recent health scare is my 'kick-start' on this journey that I've started many times before, but failed to 'complete' and 'maintain'...
Five years ago, with the help of Spark People, I lost 60# and maintained a healthy lifestyle for nearly three years-the longest period of concerted attention to health since college.
Now, I'm back to the site that helped me so much before, with a mindset knowledge of my previous journey and hopes of not just repeating the weight loss, but actually internalizing the necessity of a lifelong committment to my health.
With 100# to lose again, I'll be enlisting the food tracker, fitness minutes, articles and videos as well as the fine online community.
Here's to the process & journey...may it never end....
lower cholesterol and BP
Drop 10% of body weight or about 30#
Increase physical activity to 60 minutes/day from 0 to 30 minutes
Be more diligent with nutrition
1) eat more whole grains/fuits/veggies/non-processed foods
2) track weight on scale at least every other week
3) log foods/physical activities
4) get back to gym for strength training/cardio 3-4 days/week for 60 min.
5) stay on Spark!
I'm a midwestern gal who's children are grown...I've got a love of dogs and have 3 that we 'share' with my daughter...I like hiking, gardening, shopping and antiquing

Dee! Think of healthy living as a career. Make goal setting a regular part of your life. Become a permanent participant in sustaining better lifestyle choices. Focus on one goal at a time to become a healthier you. Develop an action plan for each goal and finish what you start. Each positive change will lead you to better results. I can so relate, I too lost some significant weight thru Spark about 5 years ago and long story short, here I am to lose that same amount all over again. It is water under the bridge now, only looking forward, marching on. Thanks again for the laugh today! I really needed that!!!!
