Keith's Lifestyle Improvement Page

My name is Keith and I am trying to improve my eating habits. I exercise regularly (every day), but I had not been able to consistently lose weight due to my poor eating.

2015-03-18:

I have now been on SP for 2000 days in a row! I have been up and down over that time, and I still have to work very hard to stay on my eating plan, but I am still so much better off than I was back in 2009!

My Goals:
Train for the National Senior Olympics Triathlon in 2017.


My Program:
I exercise every day, and I am improving my eating habits by tracking everything I eat and working with a dietitian. I have still not missed a daily workout since Christmas 2008.



Personal Information:
I am originally from Canada, but live in Arizona with my wife and 4 little rescued dogs. I have run six marathons and over 30 half marathons, and I have lost more than 50 pounds from my highest weight. In 2010 I started doing sprint triathlons and completed four of them that year. Since then I have done about 10 Sprint triathlons each year.

Thanks for the well wishes on my friend feed. I was just feeling under the weather and am now 'back to normal'. Kind of hard to do since my hubby passed away, but I'm making it. Have a great finish to your day. I'm waiting for the weather to clear so I can go swimming. emoticon

It looks like you are doing fantastic!Good for you. You can imagine how I am feeling. My hubby, who is 62, is training for a 26.2 marathon may 9th. He has lost 25 + lbs & was taken off his meds. Just wondering, how old are you?

I know you answered my comment in Nov but I have not been on spark since Now 14th as that was the day my husband went into the hospital for an infection somewhere in his body (never found out where) but as a high risk patient they hospitalized him, glad they did as he coded twice on the third night. He had less than 1/2 of 1% chance of survival but he did and without cognitive damage. It was an amazing event, the ICU dr said he had never seen a miracle in ICU, but he just did. However, the coding and resulting CPR and heart injections did damage his heart and he is now living with a 21% ejection fraction. I will always be grateful to you as you were the one years ago that told me to take him in something wasn't right so I did and discovered he was in congested heart failure. Now we are taking it day by day, he's alive and walking around and for that I will always be grateful.
So glad you and your wife are okay as well.

Wow! A daily workout everyday for years. Losing 60 pounds and maintaining it. The one thing we have in common--you're "a senior"--like me. You both motivate and inspire me. Next year at this time I hope I have daily exercise and weight loss in commone with you as well. Thank you for sharing your journey.
