L of LLaMa = Lisa of Lisa Lenny and Mikhail always

Hi! I'm Lisa. I'm a SAHM in Olympia, WA. I home school my 12 year old son, Mikhail & am happily helping to raise my grandsons, 7 year old Orion & 21 month old Tiberius, a couple of days a week. I have been with my son's Dad, Lenny for over 13 years. Lenny's older son, Gabe & our D-i-L, Samantha are my grandsons' parents.

When I originally started Spark in February 2008 I weighed 188. It took me over a year to lose about 50 lbs. I now fluctuate between 140-145.

I am an alcoholic who has been sober for over 8 years. I'm also Bipolar. I've been medicated for over 17 years. I consider myself fortunate BECAUSE of these things. Not despite them. Bipolar is a gift and gives me insight that I could only have gotten by being Bipolar. I would love to help break the stigma attached to both of these things because I don't think most people really understand either of them. Bipolar & Alcoholism have both made me a stronger & better person. Through honesty & humor I hope to show the world the truth!

I'm making making some simple changes to a recipe for chicken parts from an Indian cookbook that was a birthday gift back in the spring -- pureeing together fat-free sour cream (instead of the yogurt called for, as I have the sour cream and no plain yogurt now), a mango (the recipe calls for passion fruit, but all I have is a mango), grated ginger, garam masala, a bit of hot chili and some other seasonings. The chicken will marinate in the mixture overnight and then bake after shaking off excess marinade.

I know what you're thinking. Keep it to yourself.

You may have "crossed" 45,000 SP points, but crossing the Continental Divide would get you farther. No frequent-flyer miles for SP points. Not even a subway token (they ceased to exist long ago, but the image is more picturesque and evocative than a Metrocard.)

emoticon one of these will get you far
