Have you read the Spark Article on the Motivational page called MInd Over Body? It is 10 steps to achieve a healthy lifestyle. It starts by explaining the difference between a diet and a life style and then there are 10 articles you read and do suggested assignments to help you to understand how you can make real lasting lifestyle changes that don't go away or change because of circumstances. I'm on step 4. Hope you decide to check this out because it might be what you need this time round to be able to make the commitment to yourself that you are looking for.

Hi! I just read your blog on walking. Thank you for sharing. I used to do a lot of what you do (walking at work on lunch and break, walking with a buddy, walking indoors at the local college field house during bad weather, etc.) I had to quit all exercise a couple years ago due to illness and hospitalization. During that time I gained about 30 lbs and got very flabby. BUT NOW I can start exercising again but I have needed incentive, I guess.
Thank you for the incentive (SPARK) that I need. emoticon

Love your motto: life's too short to drink cheap booze and argue with stupid people. I absolutely agree. Laphroaig and arguments about Wittgensteinian philosophy it is!
