This is for ME!

I was always chubby growing up, and after a certain point, you come to accept that's what you are and don't try to change it. When I was 18, my mother died of a massive heart attack. She was 46. Granted, she had every major risk factor for heart disease, but the fact that she was morbidly obese contributed enormously. Over the past several years, I've gradually aimed for a healthier lifestyle, eating healthier and becoming more active. However, with all of the stresses I was enduring, it was hard to stay focused. Now, it is time for me. This is something I have to do now for my future. What's the point of life if you can't enjoy living it?

My Goals:
I want to be healthier, stronger, and happier. I want to become an active person, chasing after life instead of waiting for it to come to me. I want to prove to myself that I can do this.

My Program:
Ebu ebu (Chinese for: Step-by-step). I'm going to take it one day at a time, one moment at a time, one meal at a time.

Welcome to the Couch to 5k running group!!!! Stop by the message board and introduce yourself to the team. On the team page you will find a thread for each training week. Click on week one and post were you are at in your training. This is a great way to meet others who are in the same phase of training as you. Some of my best friends were in my training week one and we worked through the program together sharing victories, questions, comments, and ideas. I look forward to learning more about you. I will be popping in on the Weeks 1 - 3 training to help answer any questions that might pop up and to cheer you on to your goals! Be blessed! Be a runner!
