The Non-Magical, Non-Mystery Tour
Bear with me, I'm sort of a goofball, and as you will learn shortly, EXCESSIVELY VERBOSE. I plan to start by losing around 120 pounds; I'll decide on a final goal once I get down there and see what the landscape is like (it's been a while!) I lost 30 pounds on Weight Watchers in 2009, but then stress & life intervened and I gained it back, plus a little extra. So here I am. Uh... hi! I blog a bit here and there, as I have thoughts. ...

I plan to start by losing around 120 pounds; I'll decide on a final goal once I get down there and see what the landscape is like (it's been a while!) I lost 30 pounds on Weight Watchers in 2009, but then stress & life intervened and I gained it back, plus a little extra. So here I am. Uh... hi! I blog a bit here and there, as I have thoughts. Anything that shows up is likely to be long (VERBOSE!) so if you do want to read it, you might want to grab a cup of coffee. (I must give credit where credit is due: my page title comes from a blog by Linda Holmes, who is awesome and a better writer than I'll ever hope to be. My Goals:
Weight: lose ~120 pounds get to or near a "healthy" BMI Fitness: Run a 5k - Done! Turkey Trot 11/22/2012 Improve my 5k time Practice 9/22/2012 49:56 Turkey Trot 11/22/2012 48:27 Get stronger, especially upper body Build muscle Do "real" pushups Do pullups (obviously these are consecutive, not simultaneous goals)
My Program:
I just track everything I eat and looking at the data to make changes. I already eat a lot of vegetables, so my main effort right now is to increase protein, decrease carbs a little, and watch fat and junky food on busy days when I don't have time to cook. I have done Couch to 5k, but can't run right now due to injury. I do a lot of swimming, and generally try to do some cardio 3x a week, and mix in some strength training here and there. Mostly my plan is to not do anything I would hate to do "forever." So I don't plan to work out 7 days a week or give up any particular kind of food or anything like that.
Personal Information:
I live in The Jerz right now; we're hopefully buying a house sometime in the near future. Married; no kids. But probably will think about having some within the next 5 years, so I'd like to get this weight off, and get in a little practice keeping it off, before then.
Other Information:
I want a dog more than anything on the face of this earth. I have only lived in dwellings that do not allow pets (parents' house, dorms, apartments with mean evil landlords who hate me and want me to suffer) since birth, so I have never had this singular joy. Hence the hopefully buying a house. My main goal in life is to live someplace I can fill with dogs. And then fill it with dogs. Of my very own.
