I am so glad you were there!!! Something horrible could have happened to her. You may have saved her life! Every time I hear of some senile elderly person wandering off and dying it makes me ill. My grandmother was senile the last few years of her life. I could not bear to think that something like that could have happened to her. I hope her family puts special locks on the doors and/or alarms on them too. I hope from now on that she will be safe. You absolutely did the right thing. Bless you!
I want to encourage you to stick to the principles of N S today, but to relax a little this weekend even if you haven't put in a whole week or if you don't make it. It's important that we not get caught up in bargaining and trading IF we are intent on simplifying eating. Research shows that the more complicated a system is, the less likely people will follow it for long. No S is less about losing weight than it is about simplifying our eating to train our appetite. Traditional diets are notoriously UNsuccessful at really changing the kinds and amounts of food that we will really be pleased with in the long term. Discrete meals and relative permission to eat a wide variety of foods, with our sincere desire to curb overeating, have a much better chance.
