I was surprised when my evaluation said the same thing. 1200 calories is the amount of calories someone might be eating to maintain weight at the mid 100 pounds. So someone weighing 300 pounds should be able to lose weight with a few more calories and not be light headed etc. Be sure you are drinking enough water. In any other weight loss plan I've been on some one our size needed strict supervision with that few calories. I change the upper limit of my program.
