IF FIRST YOU DON'T SUCCEED TRY TRY AGAIN!

I am 61 and was a very successful Sparker. I can't believe I let myself back slide. Its funny that as you start making bad choices you start being less active on Sparks. Oh I can give you all sorts of excuses, but the truth of it is I just lost myself temporarily. WELL I AM BACK! I am here to stay.

I am a daughter, wife, mother , and grandmother. I love being all but I also need to rediscover Loretta.

What have I learned--That you have to appreciated where ...

I am a daughter, wife, mother , and grandmother. I love being all but I also need to rediscover Loretta.

What have I learned--That you have to appreciated where you are:

I may have hit a plateau, a very longgggg plateau but I was in the best shape I have been in my whole adult life. Instead of giving up I should appreciated how far I have come and where I was. It is a lesson I will not ignore this time.

Every journey starts with one step and I have made the first! I am going to succeed with all the help I get from fellow Sparkers.

I am 61 and I am not going to sit and miss what could be my best decade. There are more trails to hike and mountains to climb.

As I continue my journey I realize how much more you appreciate your progress the second time around. Take it from me--IF FIRST YOU DON'T SUCCEED--TRY-TRY-AGAIN.

Never give up--A healthy life is worth it.

I finally got the book, but haven't completely read it yet. I've skimmed most of it. I'm on day 12 or so of the diet.

Thank you for the pumpkin. Halloween is coming up fast. The kids will have fun with it being on a Friday this year. We had Thanksgiving last weekend and I have been misbehaving ever since. I need to get back in the saddle. LOL

Enjoy your weekend. Take care. Always here for you. emoticon

I don't know WHEN yet... probably in November. It seems that my ear issue Ive been fighting over a year.. isn't necessarily a ear issue at all. I'm still trying to take in the news.. sigh.

Hi Loretta,

The Whole30 is totally doable, especially if you are used to your vegetables!
I had really lost all restraint with the snack foods and desserts, candy even! I had regained 26 lbs. For some reason, the Whole30 'metabolic reset' sounded SO good to me. I set my mind to it and didn't consider any cheats at all. I started September 1st and made it to the 30th!
Make SURE you're getting enough protein, make SURE you are getting at least the middle of your range in healthy fats (discussed in the book). Then the variety and colorful vegetables at every meal! Going grain-free and dairy-free were new - that was the hardest - What do I have for breakfast?
You should see my breakfast creations now! I cook enough at night to have at least my 3 oz of whatever our protein was, for breakfast. Then I just had to add the healthy fat source, vegetables and berries for a small fruit.
emoticon Come by!! Let me know how you're doing!! When do you start? Today?

I know the Hartwigs do not advocate smoothies, but VEGA ONE makes a great vegan protein powder that is simple. It goes against whole30 plan because it has stevia. but I think you can find vegan protein powders that are unsweetened made from rice and pea.
