Living With A Heart Valve

I am 45 and have had open heart surgery in August 2006. I have three children all young adults attending colleges. I also have a grandson. He was born early, and is now trying to walk.

I am Trying to stay on the right track. My biggest problem is motivation. Staying motivated to ride my stationary bike, or my treadmill. I am looking for a buddy. Someone to keep me motivated to do just that! So far Sparkpeople has been helping me to do just that.

I am working to lose between 35 and 40 pds by October 2009. I didn't make it the first time, but I really believe with God, all things are possible. I am determined to exercise consistently and drink plenty of water.

I believe that I can do all things through Christ who strenghthens me!!

My Goals:
I want to lose 35 - 40 pds. I have never lived a healthy lifestyle as far as eating goes. My goal is to lose the weight and keep it off but without dieting. I would like to learn how to eat healthy. With Sparkpeople it's easy.

My Program:
My program consists of 45-60 minutes of cardio, 4 times a week and strength training 3 times a week. I try and do 30 minutes of high impact aerobics on the days that are not scheduled for cardio. I also drink 8-10 glasses of water a day.

Personal Information:
I am from Missouri, the proud "Show Me State".

Other Information:
Because of the big conflict with religion, most of my favorite books are religious. I try and study very frequently, and support the true Sabbath in it's entirety.

I woke up this morning and struggled to do 100p.u. and 150s.u. but somedays are gonna be harder than others. we both know that few things in life worth having or striving for will be easily obtained. so here's to struggling. but we will struggle together, i got yo back! try a lil more everyday emoticon emoticon

Hi new friend! Don't give up - my late husband was disabled due to heart disease, and at age 55 he went through 2 years of battle to finally get approved. It's maddening, but worth the fight in the end. So here I am, 5 years after his passing with even bigger heart issues than he had!! Boo-hiss on the heart attack and bypasses! Keep up the good fight - TTFN!

It's going on I did some resistance band exercises today. Still struggling with the cardio though. But just taking baby steps and hoping for the best. emoticon
