My name is Shayna. I've been struggling to lose weight since my freshman year of college. I've now been out of school for two years and have only gained weight. I've been slowly gaining weight since high school and now weigh the most I ever have. At 5'2" and 170lbs I know I must finally make some serious lifestyle changes in order to lose weight and get healthy. I've been slowly gaining weight since high school and now weigh the most I ever have. At 5'2" and 170lbs I know I must finally make some serious lifestyle changes in order to lose weight and get healthy. It's important to me to not only lose weight and reach a healthy BMI, but to feel strong and healthy. I don't want to feel weighed down or restricted by my weight any more. I want to start a healthy and active lifestyle.

My New Year's Resolution is to lose a total of 45lbs (goal weight 125lb) by my birthday December 22, and to weigh 141lbs by May 20 and the the fall Burn (a festival I attend), which would be close to my halfway point.

The plan for my first month is to exercise 5 times a day: 2 days strength training, 2 days on the elliptical, and 1 day on the treadmill.

Personal Information:
My name is Shayna and I just turned 25. I graduated my college with a degree in Spanish. I work as a bank teller but am looking to go to graduate school for Communication Sciences and Disorders so that I can become a Speech-Language Pathologist. I love foreign languages, linguistics and reading. I've always had a lot of hobbies, but mostly sedentary ones, such as writing and making jewelry, though recently hoop dance has sparked my interest. I bought a hoop and am working on learning to keep the hoop up. I'm also really into yoga.

Welcome! If you need a shoulder, a friend or a virtual coffee at some point, drop by and say hello! I've been on SP for just over four months now and am amazed at the absolutely incredible amount of support I've received. This is a fabulous site and you will be astounded at what you get out of it if you give it your all. From recent experiences I can absolutely say that there is no mountain too high to get over, no hole too deep to get out of. And cliches aside, you are truly capable of anything!
