Move It to Lose It

I have started over many, many times, and am hoping that this time will be my last start. I am ready to become the healthier, happier person that I need, and deserve to be!

My Goals:
Well, I am starting over again, and am determined to make it this time! I am starting with little changes first, then onto the bigger ones. This month, I am going to get myself up to drinking a gallon of water a day, and exercise at least 3 days a week. I am also going to start eating more fruits and veggies. Baby steps!

My Program:
I have medical issues that limit what I can do, so I am using my recumbent bike and new elliptical to get active and start using weight. I am changing my diet, and being more aware of the choices I make and the portions I eat.

Other Information:
I have lived in Iowa most of my life. I have been married to my best friend for 17 years, and we have 4 children. We lost our oldest son in December of 2012, and are trying really hard to put our lives back together after the unexpected loss. In June we were blessed by the birth of our beautiful grandson, and it gives us comfort to have a part of our son still with us.

Your welcome post hit home with me. I have never liked exercise even when I was a child. Now at age 61 I still work full-time, 12 hour nights at a nursing home and when I am home I do absolutely nothing but sit in my recliner and relax. I have managed, with the help of the Lord, to lose some weight since last March but I know I need to exercise. I found out about two or three weeks ago that I can get a discount at our local gym through my health insurance company so I actually signed up online BUT I have yet to go register and get my key fob. I hope to get started soon. Maybe we can be an inspiration to one another.

thanks for the CHOCOLATE goodie, just as i opened your goodie, i was eating my dark special chocolate bar (i only eat half), it was like you knew! keep up the good work! when i hit a plateau, i say that this is the time where my body wants to know how serious i am about getting healthy!
