Working it

I have been on a "diet" for a long time but with little committment. I am about to turn 30 and along with other changes in my life, I have decided to really get serious about getting healthy - not just losing weight but truly taking care of myself. I am excited and a little scared but am feeling good about this!

Oh my training program has been haphazard, but it seems to have worked. I guess the Official test will be the 29th when I actually do the Tough Mudder. I have strong motivation of not wanting to be the one who holds the team back. When I started out (6months to train) I couldn't run a whole mile at once, now I have run 9. I started off working on basic strength training, then added cardio a little at a time. Once the TM is down I will be reversing it to lose my last 40-50pounds, and train for a half marathon in November. SIgning up was probably the best motivation for staying on track, then once the compliments came I was HOOKED!

Thanks for the friend add. I am using one I found from Runner's World. But, I haven't officially started training. I am essentially training for the training program. Also, I am running for the Special Olympics Charity, so there is a running group I can train with too.

Thanks for the comment. I am training for the Chicago Marathon. I have been running for about a year now, but seriously training for about 2 months.

That is totally what happened to me! I did the c25k program last spring and I was hooked. I never thought I would be someone that enjoyed running...isn't it fun?
