Finally -- Time to Focus on My Goals!

2012 brought a lot of changes to my life. Most significantly, I had shoulder surgery that resulted in a frozen shoulder. I went from doing Insanity and P90X to wishing I could do my 1980's Firm VHS videos!

The good news is that I'm finally taking a break from the corporate world while I focus on rehabbing my shoulder. Now I finally have the time to cook healthy meals and focus on my weight and fitness goals. Now I need to focus on my portion sizes and food tracking.

I started Sparking in 2007 and haven't stopped since.

In 2013 I'm focusing on the nutrition part of weight loss. It's more critical than ever since I can't work out like I used to.

A little about me personally: I live in the DFW area, and love to travel domestically and internationally. I adore hiking and hope to one day live somewhere that has great trails.

I am working on an HR tech start-up while my shoulder recovers. We create employment applications for mobile devices so it's easier for candidates to apply for jobs. This helps companies increase their applicant pool. Please check it out at http://hrvirtuoso.com and let me know what you think.

My Goals:
Work out 5-7x/week.

Track that food!!!! I realized that I eat healthy food, but way too much.

I also love to swim, do pilates, and exercise DVD's, but I can't do any of these until my range of motion returns.
I still love those 1980's Firm videos!

I am very lucky to be married to a great guy who is very supportive. I am a huge fan of Eating Well Magazine and also use Sparkrecipes.

Hey, it's not going so well with the 5% Challenge team. The first week was pretty good, but lately, I just don't have time for formal exercise or the energy at the end of the day. Summertime is just way too busy with kids and stuff lol Tomorrow is another golf tourney for my son, and loads of errands ... and laundry :) It never ends. How are things going on your end?

Hi there. Just stopping by to see how you're doing. I have been mostly using the android app to log in and spin the wheel, see what my Spark Friends are up to, read articles in my "down time," keep up with my goal board, etc.

I'm reeeeeeeeally looking forward to joining a spring fitness challenge. Do you know of any? I'm reluctant to commit though, because when I do, something inevitably throws a monkey wrench in my cogs. ANYWAY, I hope you're having a blessed day!
