Finally -- Time to Focus on My Goals!

2012 brought a lot of changes to my life. Most significantly, I had shoulder surgery that resulted in a frozen shoulder. I went from doing Insanity and P90X to wishing I could do my 1980's Firm VHS videos!

The good news is that I'm finally taking a break from the corporate world while I focus on rehabbing my shoulder. Now I finally have the time to cook healthy meals and focus on my weight and fitness goals. Now I need to focus on my portion sizes and food tracking.

I started Sparking in 2007 and haven't stopped since.

In 2013 I'm focusing on the nutrition part of weight loss. It's more critical than ever since I can't work out like I used to.

A little about me personally: I live in the DFW area, and love to travel domestically and internationally. I adore hiking and hope to one day live somewhere that has great trails.

I am working on an HR tech start-up while my shoulder recovers. We create employment applications for mobile devices so it's easier for candidates to apply for jobs. This helps companies increase their applicant pool. Please check it out at http://hrvirtuoso.com and let me know what you think.

My Goals:
Work out 5-7x/week.

Track that food!!!! I realized that I eat healthy food, but way too much.

I also love to swim, do pilates, and exercise DVD's, but I can't do any of these until my range of motion returns.
I still love those 1980's Firm videos!

I am very lucky to be married to a great guy who is very supportive. I am a huge fan of Eating Well Magazine and also use Sparkrecipes.

I missed Spark and all the great friends I have here like yourself :) Glad to hear that you are still plugging away down in Texas. I am actually flying to Dallas on April 1st to pick up some stuff for my mom and drive it back in a U Haul up here. Should be fun lol. Hope you got in some good relaxation after being so busy!

I have a friend who swears she can't do 10 minutes on an elliptical but can do all other kinds of things. I actually go my my heartrate and do it as slow as I need to to keep my HR in range.

How are you doing? Shoulder? New business? Life in general?

I really do like P90X3 but feel like it isn't as tough. That can probably be attributed to the shorter lenghth. =) I still hope to see results though. I just try to give it 110% the whole 30 minutes to try to get as much out of it as possible. Josh and I haven't ran since the very beginning of november due to the cold weather. I can run in some cold weather, but when it's really cold, I just can't do it. LOL! So, we are going to try to start jogging in the afternoons/evenings again in March. That will be added in with doing P90X in the mornings. I am hoping the 2 combined will make for even better results! We'll see. I am really hoping to make it to goal this year. I NEED to make it to goal this year. It has been a very slow weight loss progress and I am totally ready to get to the finish line!
