Graduation from UMass Amherst - May 23, 2009. I miss college whole-heartedly.
Theatre Guild Banquet, May 2008. Probably close to my highest weight.

Hi! I'm Nicole, a 24 year old who needs a change of pace. I have struggled with my weight for my entire life - my first introduction to Weight Watchers was at the age of 8, and I haven't seen a number below 150 on my scale since I was in 3rd grade. I have been on diets and programs ever since then.
My highest RECORDED weight was my current starting point - 326.8, and my starting weight here (the first time) on November 11 was 302.8. I've gained back the weight I lost and THEN some, making me a yo-yo dieter. Well, NO MORE! I am going to lose my weight and change my life FOR GOOD.
I've come to terms with the fact that my body type will probably never allow me to weigh less than 150. I naturally have wide hips and a large bone structure. For a long time, my goal was 145. However, I am going to aim for 170 and reevaluate when I get there.
I have finally made the commitment to myself to change and live a happier, fuller life.
My ultimate fitness goal is to be able to comfortably pass the FBI Special Agent Fitness test that they use as part of your entrance into the academy. I also want to start with running a 5K and eventually work my way up to running a marathon by the time I'm 30 (5.5 years... clock is ticking!)
I am passionate, giving, and driven. Astrologically Cancerian, I'm a natural nurturer and caretaker. But, it has come time for me to put Nicole first. It's taken me a long time to figure out who I am. Now this is the story of nurturing that amazing woman and letting her flourish beyond any form she ever thought she could assume.
Whittling myself down, one pound at a time.
-to become an athlete - runner, swimmer, player, yoga practitioner, dancer... SOMETHING that I love
-to love myself unconditionally and be at peace with my body
-Tracking food consumed/calories
-Incorporating physical activity into my daily routine
-Spending time on Spark every day
Like all of you, I am not defined by my weight alone. Im a scholar, and I want to get my PhD someday in English or a related field (American Studies?) :)
I love writing, reading, theatre, and the visual arts, and desperately wish that I had the talent to dance. Zumba, anyone?
My favorite movie is American Beauty, and I will always have a soft spot for fairy tales, Ever After being one that I'll always stop what I'm doing to watch.
