Welcome to my SparkPage! I�ve been a member of SparkPeople.com since June 10, 2010. Six months before joining, my highest weight was 220 pounds. Trying and failing every diet on the market put me on a roller coaster year after year. That is, until I became a member of SparkPeople.com. This program made me realize that what I needed was a change in lifestyle, not a diet that would eventually end. With God in my life, determination to succeed, and the support and encouragement of my family, friends and members of SparkPeople.com, I embarked on my journey to better health.

Choosing better nutrition and becoming physically active while tracking everything I eat and do added to the success of reaching my goals. On July 12, 2011 I reached my weight goal. I went from wearing size 20 to a size 6! Over the past three years this 59 year old gal has become addicted to bike riding through wooded trails, paved trails, and roadways. I enjoy power-walking, running and kayaking. During the winter months I enjoy snowshoeing and continue to ride my bike and jog on back roads. I�ve fallen in love with Nature and have become a �shutter-bug�. And I have fun blogging about the different sights on my trails. Before I became a member of the SparkPeople community, I used to read about outdoor adventures and admire pictures of people hiking and biking in and around the Grand Tetons, Canyonlands, Arches National Park or the Gunks. Now I write about my own adventures and find myself in those kinds of pictures. My blogs continue to document them.

I welcome you to take time to read some of my blogs here on my SparkPage. Life is an adventure. There are many roads for us to travel to reach our goals in life. Choose the healthy road. Have your goals in full sight and take one step at a time to reach them. It may be difficult at first, you may experience bumps every once in a while, but with consistency at working hard and not giving up, what you thought was impossible you can make possible! Every day I want to be better than I was the day before. Join me as we journey side by side to reach our goals. Together, we can do it one step at a time!
