The Constant Challenge

I've been fighting to lose my extra weight for years. I am always successful in losing the weight, but not so much in keeping it off. This has to be the last time I go through this. I need to finally lose the weight and feel good about my body.

Two years ago my husband and I started running races. We ran a half marathon in September 2013 and let ourselves go after that. We are now getting back in shape and signing up for more races.

thank you for the comment on my blog! I had one meeting with a nutritionist/personal trainer to help me but I am just amazed that after 5 days I am in THIS much pain. I am meeting with him again tonight to decided if I should try to stay the all natural route or go back to medication.

I've been meaning to switch from ibuprofen to arnica montana. No need to worry about damaging my kidneys.

I believe part of my IT band problem starts with the bunion on the big toe of my right foot. The lesson to take away from that is that if your IT band is tight, make sure you're also stretching your glutes and hip flexors. It helps me, anyway.

Oh, and I highly recommend the Lamaze breathing to get through the pain of using a foam roller. I do not know why it works, but it really does seem to help distract my brain from the agony.

I've actually had doctors tell me to increase my sodium levels. The last time I drew my blood (about a month ago), my sodium was 130 and my chloride was 99. Normal reference ranges are 131-143 and 101-111, respectively. So yeah, I'm on the low side. When I cook with pre-packaged foods, I always opt for the low sodium or no salt added versions so I can add my own amount, but I've never liked salty foods either.

Thanks for that comment. My goal is NOT to be a supermodel or anything like that. I don't want their body. All I want is a flat stomach and smaller thighs, is that too much to ask? haha. But my body isn't built that way and I'm trying everything to change it.
