Personal Information:
I am a social worker at a Skilled Nursing and Rehab center. This is my first experience in working with the elderly population.

I was a Mental Health Social Worker for 10 years in West Virginia, and then delved into Home Care and Hospice Care when I moved to California. Being a Hospice Social Worker was the first step toward healing after losing my mom to cancer and being on the receiving end of Hospice Care.
I was very active and fit when I lived in southern California. (In line skating, biking, water volleyball, and swimming)

My move to Pennsylvania five years ago, was devastating to my fitness regime as I hadn't been a "gym person" since living in West Virginia. (My Home Sweet Home state)

March 2009, I grew tired of being unfit and fat, and joined a gym.

May 2009, I FOUND SPARKPEOPLE!

Hello MACGIRRL,

I just wanted to stop by your page to say "hi" and to let you know about something very nice another Sparker had to say about you.

Sunday I wrote a blog called H is for Heroes. In the comments, SANDYB223 nominated you as one of her "SHEroes". Please check out my blog if you would like to see what she wrote about you!

I am so glad that I took the time to check out your page. Your success here on SparkPeople is so inspiring!

Hugs,
~JJ~

Good morning and thank you for adding me as a friend - I am honored! I see you had a stellar 5K last fall - woohoo! Great time!! So when is your next race? You gotta have another one on the books..... How's the calf pain? (I just wrote a blog about a stretch my doc recommended for my tight calves. Didn't even know they were tight. You might want to check and see if it helps. If not, try runnersworld. com for some stretches and tips - that mag is the best $12 per year that I spend!)

Happy running!

Good morning! I woke up to about 7" of snow on the ground, howling wind, and heavy snow. What's it like up your way?
