Hello. I am tired of being on the weight loss roller coaster. I want to be healthy and welcome friends to join me on this journey.

Hello. I am tired of being on the weight loss roller coaster. I want to be healthy and welcome friends to join me on this journey.

Although I have been a SparkPeople member for years, I have not always used this wonderful resource the way I should. I am excited to be a part of this great community and look forward to having support on my journey.

I used to think people who ran were crazy. I could not understand why they would put themselves through that torture. Then, in a moment of clarity, I realized that all of my running friends were healthy and I decided that I wanted to be healthy too so I started the couch to five K program and shocked myself by LOVING it. Holy moly! I was running and I liked.

Last May I hurt my foot (plantar's fasciitis). Finally, in February, I was able to run again without pain. Thank you WalkFit inserts. It was a little sad to start over but I have completed the C25K progam before so I know I can do it. I have been doing two days at a time and am up to week 7. Now I want to work on speed (I am definitely a tortise) and increase my distance to 10K.

Run the 10K trail at our family reunion in Sarasota this summer.

Add strength training to my exercise routine to tone up and get strong.

Drink my water.

Graduate from C25K and move on to the Bridge to 10K program.

Firm and TurboJam on non-running days.

Personal Information:
I am a wife, mom and teacher. I struggle to find me time but know that to be the best me I can be, I have to take care of myself.

I had gestational diabetes when I was pregnant and know that my risk for developing Type II diabetes is higher than average. Making healthier choices is about so much more than weight.

WOW Beth !! U are DEFINETLY a GOOOOO GETTER !! Ty so much fo reporting ur time,, before taking off on the trip. I hope that since you walked,, ur WIDE AWAKE and had ZERO problems with the driving.

WHen I was in my late 20s,, my room mate and I decided on a WHIM,,, at 11:30 at night,, to HOP into the car,, and head for NC !! We live in Maine,,, WHAT a TRIP that was,, her sister, brother and father were SHOCKED to see us. LOL That was soooo much FUN !!

On the way back though,,, as we drove thru NJ,, it hit us both that we were BEYOND Exhausted the next day,,,,,, and stopped for 2 hrs to sleep,,, than we headed back here. LOL to be YOUNG AGAIN !!!!

WOW Beth !! I am SURAH Nyu are EXHAUSTED Gal !! Hope you got a VERY NICE SLEEP tonight gal !! U take carah And Ty for the exerise,, of which yo9u are Extremely faightufl too !! I surah hope you WILL come back as a Dawggie for the FALL Challenge !! WOOf HOWLLLING ! It shouold be out within this weeki I hope that the sign up will come out. So PLZY keep ur eyes peeled for it ! OH YAH!!

HI Kiddo !! OH YEAH when we go on vacation and do not get our own choice of foods !! I am so sorry that the freggies,, where not readily available,, I LOVE meat, but I do not like to cook it. I learned mostly to cook from my Gram,,,,, (LOL Mom said "Diane you NEED to MARRY RICH ! For you will NEVER cook or work !" She was of course RIGHT ! I DO NOT COOK !) and my Gram showed me mostly treats to cook. SIGH !! She was 5 feet tall by 5 feet WIDE !! She told me,, and I MAY do this,,, "once ur into ur 70s, you KNOW you will die from SOMETHING so why NOT eat as you WISH"???? I understood that,,,,, still do for her,,,, I can imagine when I reach my mid 70s,,, doing that also,, MAYBE !! If my legs/feet are worse,, I WILL NOT ! For I'll need to have help with it,, I almost do now !

GLAD you got to be with ur Mom !! I hope you cherished it. I lost mine when I was only 32. I MISS HER ! I just for the life of me,, can NOT imagine what it would of been like for her to be old. She was always sooo FULL OF WILD , CRAZY FUN !!! LOL that woman always had a TON of friends, etc,, she was SOOOO FUNNY !!!

My Dad is the SAME WAY, but he is now 83,,, and so yeah,, life will continue on once he's left,, than its US KIDS NEXT !! OH MY GOODNESS ! but my GD has been calling me "OLD" since I hit my 50s,, 5 yrs ago,, she's now married,, I FEEL AS IF I AM OLD saying THAT !!!

HI Hon !! WOW On ur weigh in !! GREAT JOB !! WOOHOOO !! I was down by 3 lbs,, than I FOOLISHLY did a RARE thing, and had fast food, though I STAYED in CALORIE RANGE,, it STILL affected me !! UGHERS !! STILL I DID lose a lb !! Next week, NO FAST FOOD for I WANT a 2 or 3 lb loss,, and to HELP that,, I get OFF the FULL Cast,, and go into a SMALLAH ONE ! WOOHOOOO !!! Just 4 more weeks,, and I can start to put some weight on foot ! YEAH !! It's been 4 weeks already !! YO ENOUGH I SAY !
