    I think they're a good thing. We all have labels that we wear with pride (or not), titles that mean something to us.

    I started off so slow and took so long to ramp up. I thought with the occasional intervals I ran that that wasn't "really" running, and now the intervals have gotten longer and longer (though I haven't had time to push myself longer than 20 minutes at a time, because of work and family). I did have the thought that participating in a race would make me feel comfortable enough to actually claim that title... but, I have no desire to run around people. lol. It's my peaceful quiet time.

    Thanks for the encouragement with running! I know you are a runner, which is one reason you inspire me. I would really like to run a full 5k without stopping, but it's certainly helpful to know that there are other ways to do it too.

    Actually, I've been confused about whether I should aim for speed or for longer intervals when I train. I find that actually consciously running slower is usually better for me than running faster as far as feeling accomplished and running for longer periods of time, but I could work towards either -- need some guidance!
