I'M BACK AGAIN AND WILL DO THIS UNTIL I GET IT RIGHT!

Hi..my name is Sharon and I live in Central Florida. I'm an eight year lung cancer survivor. I feel eternally grateful that the good Lord has seen fit to keep me around a while longer. I also underwent total right knee replacement in January 2011. That was huge and not something I want to do again.

Hi..my name is Sharon and I live in Central Florida. I'm an eight year lung cancer survivor. I feel eternally grateful that the good Lord has seen fit to keep me around a while longer. I also underwent total right knee replacement in January 2011. That was huge and not something I want to do again.

I've had a couple of rough years with major back issues, lots of pain, and very little exercise because of it. I had a laminectomy two years ago which took care of the sciatic pain, but the lower back is full of arthritis. I've been going through a series of back injections which helps for a little while. However, it's not much more than a band aid.

I went to my 50th class reunion four years ago which was quite an eye-opener. Many of my classmates have already passed on so I feel blessed that I'm still here. I haven't been very fair to God though; He who has kept me here for a reason. I talk the talk, but certainly don't walk the walk. If I intend on being here in another five years I have to get serious. Knowing that I'm in control and always have been is the eye-opener I've been looking for and found it. I feel I finally "got it."

So, this is it! No more kidding around and I'm not giving up. I'm on a campaign to lose enough weight to at least be healthy and walk the walk.

My Goals:
My goal is ultimately to get healthy; one day at a time, one pound at a time. If I trip and stumble, I will get back up and start again.

My Program:
I will use SP as a food planner/tracker along with sensible eating. No more cheating or making bad choices. I have no idea what I'm going to use for cardio and strengthening but will come up with something soon since I have to get moving.

I will track daily and blog once a week.

Personal Information:
I'm interested in many things. I love to pen pal and I write to 21 ladies all over the USA. I'm also Queen of a Red Hat Society chapter. I also enjoy counted x-stitching, ceramics, a little gardening, travel, reading, stage shows, and figure skating (watching it). I've lived in Montana, Maine, Massachusetts, Michigan, Virginia, and now Florida. I've been married almost twelve years to my old high school steady which has been a lot of fun. He's a great husband. We share six adult children, nine grandchildren, and three great-granddaughters. We're both retired and living the good life.

Other Information:
I'm an aspiring author hard at work on my third novel, "A Time to Reboot," the second book in the Stony Creek Series, which I hope will be published sometime in September. My first novel, "Detours of the Heart" was published in September 2009 and has done very well. I've also written a few short stories; one published. I belong to a photographers club, book writing workshop, the Write Corner,The Florida's Writers Association, Romance Writers of America, Writers League of the Villages.

No problem. I will leave a comment when I have read the book. Sorry about not reading it sooner. I've been busy with Easter preparations and my husband's chemo. Don't worry. He is getting better even though it is a struggle for him. I on the other hand have not lost weight for a while, but that isn't surprising. I haven't been exercising and keeping on my calorie watch as much as usual either. I have to get back into it.

Hi Sharon, thank you so much for the kind comments. It's been hard at times but I'm really determined to lose this time. emoticon
I've still clothes in boxes which won't quite fit me yet so I'm holding off from buying a lot, I mainly needed new underwear and just a bit of decent stuff for when I have to go out. I also need a new jacket now the weather is nicer...my old one is very baggy and friends tell me it makes me look bigger than I am...can't have that after all the hard work...lol... emoticon

I see from your previous comment that you've a new book out, I have read 'Detours of the heart' but will have to find your others now!

Have a wonderful day emoticon

I already bought Detours of the Heart and will begin it as soon as I finish reading my current book. I will get Stoney Creek Diners today. Thanks for letting me know. I love to read. It will be fun reading the book of someone I have talked to.

emoticon Yes I am a Red Hat lady. We are going with 2 0r 3 other chapters to see the flowers at Carlsbad Calif tomorrow. Looking forward to a day of flowers, food and shopping. They are picking me up at 6:25 am tomorrow. O how I hate to get up early, but it will be worth it.

Thanks for responding to my blog. You gave the right name to what happened to me. Aha moment. Right now I am entering a novel on createspace.com. Thanks for helping me. I am very excited to see how this turns out. I will let you know as soon as it is published. The other novel is still in its infancy but I am so excited about it.

What is the name of your novel so that I can order it from Amazon on my kindle.

As you might guess, I am an avid reader.
