Mama's ready to get healthy

Imagine what your ideal healthy person would live like, and make steps towards becoming that person.

From the brilliant blog Canyoustayfordinner, Andie writes: "There will be a point for you, if you’re in need of losing weight, when you will realize that there is no need to carry around a backpack of self-defeating prophecies."

Being negative takes way more energy than being positive AND it saps your strength. There's nothing to gain from being negative ...

Being negative takes way more energy than being positive AND it saps your strength. There's nothing to gain from being negative and everything to gain from being positive.
I choose the easy option: being positive.

"Our greatest weakness lies in giving up. The most certain way to succeed is always to try just one more time."
Thomas Edison (with thanks to Nillapepsi)

I'm a mama of four kids, happily married to my best friend.
We live for Jesus, home educate, attachment parent, do lots of crafts and I love creating items by sewing, knitting, crocheting, cooking...basically anything creative!
I put on a lt of weight the past 7 years while growing and feeding my babies and now the time has come to address that issue and get back to a sensible weight.

For I have come to have much joy and comfort in your love, because the hearts of the saints have been refreshed through you ~ Philemon 1:7.

I rejoice over you. As I prepare to close out my account with Spark People on the 12th, I want you to know that God has used you to refresh my heart and I have found much joy and comfort in your loving ways and caring presence. You will be in my heart and in my prayers as I take up my cross daily to follow Jesus. Keep up the good work, beloved. God bless you on your way.

Blessings and emoticon

Start now. Stay focused. FINISH STRONG! That is my goal for this month and all to come. I find that I start the month strong, then I let life get in the way and lose momentum and commitment toward the last half. That habit has lost more than one race. Starting now I am pacing myself, so as to not tax my bod and throw myself into this cycle again this month, saving some energy for that final thrust. If I fall, “NOW” is when I start back, for tomorrow may never come. I am maintaining focus, for as my friend and FlyLady say, “Focus makes us FABULOUS”. And I have my eye fixed on the target before me to make every step a strong one so I FINISH STRONG in February with an ultimate goal sighted for 2013.

“Do you not know that those who run in a race all run, but only one receives the prize? Run in such a way that you may win” ~ 1 Corinthians 9:24, NASB.

Our race on this journey is our own, and we are our only opponent. Bettering self is the race we run. I don’t know about you, but I find that it is more difficult to run against self than anyone else, for I am overly gracious and give excuse too easily for my falls. So, NOW, “I run in such a way, as not without aim; I box in such a way, as not beating the air; but I discipline my body and make it my slave, so that, after I have preached to others, I myself will not be disqualified” ~ vs. 26-27. Making myself accountable with hope of encouraging others of you who struggle as I do, this is my prayer for us as we run our race this month.
