In this for life!

I am back again!( RKMAMA from 2010-2013) Not even sure why I allowed myself to leave this wonderful community! Life can throw a lot of things at all of us but we need support and encouragement from one another! In 2010 I completed my weight loss journey, going from 235 lbs to 153 lbs. I was very motivated and Sparkpeople helped me maintain my zeal. In 2012 I was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease that caused damage to my joints and eyes.

I immediately felt some relief in knowing what was affecting me. For years I had complained to doctors about strange symptoms and pain. Finally there were answers! But I didn't realize that during the following months I would go through a grieving process. It was extremely difficult for me to express what I was feeling. Many days I pretended to be okay or not in pain. And then the old habits of stuffing away my feelings came back! Over a period of a year, I have regained close to 40 lbs.

Now, I have picked up my journey! It's going to be a new time in my life. Things won't be the way they were, only better! I will get back to my healthy maintenance range of 150-155 pounds. I still have a lot of fight in me! Along the way I look forward to supporting others in their journey to healthier living!

UPDATE: It's April 2014 and I'm down to the high 160's and a size 8/10 again! I see no reason why I can't make it back to my healthy weight range by the end of May or early June...

FALL UPDATE: I have let myself down by allowing weight to creep up steadily throughout the summer. Even my doctors are concerned! So here I am again! Well, it happens...I will be working to get back to a healthier weight range. With the busy summer and vacationing, I knew I was eating wrong. No more!

Welcome to the Living Binge Free team, where we concentrate more on learning to eat sanely in all situations with all foods rather than directly on weight loss. Over time, we can learn to be happy with and even prefer a lot less manufactured food and less food in general. I've put in over 4 years and lost about 40 lbs., about 21% of my former weight. It wasn't easy every second, but it's been totally worth it! Come check out our 21-day streak thread or the June thread, our most active ones or start your own!

You are the recipient of the Beautiful Woman Award!! emoticon

Once you've been given this award, you have to paste it on the page of 8 women who deserve it. If you receive more than 3, you know you're really beautiful! If you break the chain, nothing will happen, but it's always good to know someone thinks you're beautiful inside and out! emoticon

Again, Congratulations
