Thanks for your comment on my "Official Fitness Test" blog. Part of the issue with coaches and officials is that we are all ex-athletes. When I played football in high school and college I could not eat enough to maintain weight. The practices and workouts were brutal.

Of course, when players hang up their cleats, the appetite is still there but the activity level drops. Hence, the prevalence of fat coaches and officials.

The fitness requirements for officials is a good thing. My association has training days during the off-season. Mostly group runs. The NFL officials have rigorous fitness requirements.

Thanks, Bruce

Thanks for reading and commenting on my blog. While I have a lot going on right now, I am not going through anything alone. I am more than blessed with a wonderful sister and two great brothers, and a boyfriend who is knocking himself out trying to juggle his work, workouts, and my sudden needs. I have some great friends, too, who are bringing over lunch and visiting and offering to drive me places.
