Fall 2017 5% Challenge I started spark people in January 2013. Slowly, but surely, I lost 50 pounds. And then the wheels came off the bus. My sister MLH148 (my spark buddy!) died in July 2016 and my mother (who loved me through thick and thin!) died in March 2017. I have re-gained 40 pounds! It's time to get moving and LIVE.

My Goals:
I want to lose the weight I have re-gained over the past two years...lose MORE to get to "onederland"...feel better and stronger physcially and mentally...gain strength,stamina and flexibility...and be a more positive, happy, calm, and grateful person.


My Program:
Diet Plan for the 5% Fall Challenge:
I will eat breakfast, and something healthy every 3-4 hours. I will limit salt-bad fats-and sugars. I will take special care to LIMIT SALT. I will drink A LOT of water. I will write down everything I eat.

Fitness Plan for 5% Fall Challenge:
I will GET UP and MOVE every 30-60 minutes at work. I will walk for 30 minutes each day and stretch for 20 minutes each evening. I will continue to attend my Water Arthritis Class at the Y on Mondays. I will LOOK for opportunities to move, be active, stretch and climb stairs. I will GO TO THE Y. And I will "get physical" with my husband.



Personal Information:
I will be 58 on Labor Day, September 4, 2017. I am married (no children). I have an interesting and challenging job as a minister with "odd" hours.


Other Information:
I KNOW that tracking, accountability, honesty, discipline, hard work make all the difference.

    Stopping by to say, "Hi!" to a soon to be Cloverleaf. I'm a leader on the Cloverleaf Team for the 5% Challenges. Had to come meet you even though we've not yet started (things will get crazy with start-up tasks soon.) I'm looking forward to travelling with you during the next couple of months.

    Looks like you've had a rough couple of years. Good to see you are healing enough to begin to move forward again. I too am just starting to work on a 40 pound gain from earlier this year. With effort, emoticon !

    I hope you have a great weekend and are out of pain by now!!! I look forward to seeing you again in the Summer Challenge!!! It has been nice getting to know you better and you are an awesome lady!!! Your exercise minutes astound me and I would like to emulate you! I stayed about the same weight during the Spring Challenge, but I think of this as a win for me as I at least didn't gain, but I sure do hope to do better for the Summer Challenge. I am still in pain, but hoping resting and ice will help that go away as I really want to be able to exercise more. Anyway, I just wanted to stop by and say "hello" and have a great weekend!!! emoticon emoticon emoticon

    I was sorry to see that you had pulled something while doing aerobics in the pool. My leg and hip are still hurting, but ice helps to make it feel a little bit better, also wearing a compression thigh high stocking seems to help some and I just started taking enteric coated aspirin as my stomach doesn't allow me to take anti-inflammatory medications such as ibuprofen or Aleve. Good luck getting out of pain. Possibly just going to the pool and floating around and not doing much might help, but I would skip the water aerobics class until it feels better and then not overdo. If the pain continues, you might want to get in to see your PCP. emoticon emoticon

    I just saw your post that you are running in a 5K. You are such an amazing woman!!! You are an inspiration for sure. I think I need a complete overhaul as I have been stuck at this weight for a while now, but anyway, good luck in the run. emoticon

    Hi, I hope you have a great Mother's Day today and a good week this week. I am just resting today as I overdid it yesterday shopping and running around with my granddaughter, so it will be a day to use the ice and heating pad again today. Anyway, I hope you have a great day and are meeting your expectations for yourself for the Spring Challenge. I have been pretty much staying the same, and gained a couple of pounds yesterday, ugh! I can only just keep trying, so that is what I will do. Have a good day and keep sparking! emoticon emoticon
