I want to lose weight...gain strength and stamina...sleep well...be less anxious and more calm.
Diet Plan for the 5% Winter Challenge: I will eat breakfast, and something healthy every 3-4 hours. Every week I will restock my stash of healthy food at work. I will mindfully choose my afterwork/tv-viewing snack. I will limit salt-bad fats-and sugars. I will take special care to LIMIT SALT. I will write down everything I eat.
Fitness Plan for 5% Winter: I will GET UP and MOVE every 30-60 minutes at work...walk for at least 30 minutes/day... and stretch for 20-minutes each evening. At least once a week I will get to the Y for the weights or the pool or do one of my exercise videos. Everyday I will get down on the floor and get back up again! And everyday I will spend at least a few minutes in quiet meditation.
I am 55. I am married (no children). I am a minister. My husband has some serious health problems. I struggle with anxiety.
I just read your blog on "Failure"...Please don't think of it as failure. The scales are just a number. You are making lots of progress in being healthy and looking after yourself. I also have to say that you have motivated me....and that is no easy feat. So as you struggle and persever just remember that progress is not always measured by a number...sometimes it is measured by healthy choices, an lots of non scale victories.
