Dear Marilyn, That was such a sweet note. You are exactly as old as my 2nd daughter she turned 59 on 13th August. My eldest daughter is 62. I have 4 sons between 60 & 55. Yes Marilyn dear, longevity is genetic and it is upto us to remain healthy. I lost my dad 5 years ago at the ripe age of 99 and my mom is still around at 97. She has mild dementia/alzhiemers, but otherwise is fighting fit. Praise the Lord. In fact this morning was completely tied up attending to a "mommy tantrum". On bad days when mom's dementia acts up, she gives my dear sis-in-law who is her chief caregiver a real bad time. So this morning I got an SoS from her as mom was refusing to take her meds. So had to go dashing there to help calm mom down. They leave just a couple of miles aways so makes it easy. Yes I am here to get fitter, knock off as many pounds as I can and get better at my mobility. Well I can talk my head off....so won't bore you any more. Thanks for all the hugs and love Sending the same right back to you.
You are possibly the 4th or 5th person on Spark who has mentioned this lovely lady Mani to me. Yes I did visit her spark page but to unfortunately learn that she is no more with us. May she Rest-in-peace and I can see that she has left a huge void out here with so many people missing her still.
Her page says that she is from Kerala, well I am from Lucknow that is North India. Had I joined Spark a little earlier I would have made an effort to seek her out. As I have a couple of Grand daughters who live in Bangalore, an hour by flight to Ernakulam. Guess we were never destined to meet. :(
Have added you as a friend...and hope we can get to know each other better.
Re the juicer, I used to swear by mine, then started to use my stick blender to make smoothies. It got a bit tired and my bigger blender didn't cope with vegetables so I bought a nutribullet on the recommendation of my BIL who makes himself a smoothie every morning. There are a bunch of different types around, I don,t now how they compare but this one is so easy to use, quick and quiet, and a great way to deliver all the benefits of freggies, plus I add seeds, magnesium powder, flaxseeds. The smoothie makes it easy to deliver those weird supplements I would struggle to incorporate into my diet otherwise. And yes, you get all the fibre!
Thanks for your reply and Sammy's hug. The show she is talking about is General Hospital. She has been watching it for years, I am just now catching up on it and characters. I have it on in the background because I am always doing something, crafty, woodsy. I just need some form of noise. I am not hooked to it, but some are! And at least fill me in when I am not sure what the story line is about. Don't you remember the famous duo "Luke and Laura" back in the 80's? That's GH
Love me some Sammy hugs!!!! Someday I may get to! I just don't travel so much because of the neuropathy, just can't feel if I am pushing in the clutch! lol
